SFH- its a technique to use frequencies more efficiently and inturn increasing the capacity and handling interference.

Sfh - here the arfcn wud be more than the no . of trxs in bts.also we have better hopping gain here.& also we need not to go for new frequency scheme when we add new trxs to the site as this is to be do done in Baseband hopping there is a frequency list called as Mobile Allocation list which in turn relates to Mobile allocation index offset(MAIO) and Hopping sequence number(HSN) for its functioning. The important factor here is to consider the cell loading. ideally it should be around 16% but we go up to 20-21%. As you increase the cell loading you increase the interference. So, frequencies taken in MA List should be adequate enough to have not more than 20% cell loading. AMR- Its a technique where in the receivers adjust data rate to be transmitted according to RF conditions and hence handling interference more efficiently and improving KPIs by reducing call drops. Power control means decision to vary power depending upon the RF link between a transmitter and Receiver. In very broad terms remember there are two types of power control 1) One shot power control- Here quality of RF link is measured and power is increased in one shot to compensate the link quality. 2) Step by step power control - Here if the quality goes poor then power is increased in steps of say +2dB again measurements are done, if link still poor another +2dB power is increased for the link. And if everything is good that is if the quality is really good system would reduce power by -1dB till the lower threshold. (This is a kind of power window with upper and lowe thresholds),so power is varied between these two points depending upon the link quality. POWER CONTROL PARAMETRS: Downlink lrxLevDLP -86 to -85 urxLevDLP -76 to -75 lrxQualDLP 0.8 to 1.6 urxQualDLP 0.2 to 0.4 Uplink lrxLevULP -90 to -89 urxLevULP -81 to -80 lrxQualULP 0.8 to 1.6 urxQualULP 0.2 to 0.4 But these parametr values are differ from vendor to vendor....

SQI is speech Quality Index a TEMS patent term. SQI is used to have an actual idea of the voice quality. SQI takes in to account FER (Frame erasure rate) and handover staistics. where as Rxqual is a measure of the BER (Bit error rate). 0 coresponds to best qual n 7 the worst. ( 0 coresponds to 0.125% BER where as 7 coresponds to 12.5 % BER or more) U might have a good rxqual but a bad voice quality due to frequent hadovers or some other reason. As Rxqual is just a measure of the BER its not able to give an accurate idea of the voice quality. SQI is an accurate measure of the actual voice quality developed by ericsson taking many voice samples and analyisng them to get an actual estimate of the voice qualty of the call; thus SQI was developed.
