Start Procedure: (Without Command)

The Routine will commence with the first pace / movement by the team which must be within 16 beats of the commencement of the music.
Start Procedure: (With Command)

From the Position of Attention, a member of the Team, will command: Team - Quick MARCH (L-L-L), completing within 16 beats. The Team members will pause one beat, then step out/move with the initial step/ movement being so timed to occur on the next Left (loud) beat of music. 18. FALSE STARTS: At any time prior to the commencement of the first movement of the Exhibition Drill Routine, Teams should be closely watched to see that they are in time with the music. When three or more members are observed to be out of time with the music, either the Start Marshal, the designated Judge (Exhibition Drill Compulsory Judge No.1), or the Chief Judge of the Day will cause the Team to Halt before the first movement. It is not the Teams responsibility, and in the final analysis, such duty lies with the Start Marshal. Should a False Start occur then the Start Marshal will have the Team return to the Start Disc where they will take up the Position of Attention. As the Start is now choreographed to music with or without a command, the Team will restart in the same manner as the original Start for the teams routine.
Coaches should explain in detail to the Team, the conditions governing false starts, so that nervous tension as a result of a false start may be reduced to a minimum.

19. MEMBERS IN SUPPORT: When other members are in support they may accompany the Team to the Assembly Area. As the Team moves to the selected Start Position, the support members will move to the designated position, on the Right/Left side boundary, near the front corner, where they will Stand at Ease. Members will take care to remain outside the competition area at all times. 20. AT FINISH: The performance will be completed by the Team halting together (any method). The team may be in any formation within the boundaries. The selected Finish Position will be in the front half of the stipulated area preferably toward the centre. All Team members facing the front of the area will execute a Salute as detailed with timing in four or five beats to accommodate the finish of the music if appropriate. At the completion of the Salute there will be a two second (4 beats) static pose to allow for acknowledgement by the audience. Immediately after the completion of the Salute and two second (4 beats) static pose, the Team will Turn Right/Left in any drill manner and march directly off the area over the designated side boundary without stopping. After crossing the boundary, the team will move off the area in an orderly manner.
