Presidents Report from Natalie Jupe

Hello Everyone and welcome to the New Rotary Year. Firstly I would like to say a big thank you to everyone involved in making our Changeover dinner last week for their help to make it the success that it was. Everyone I have spoken to has said what a wonderful time they had. I personally had a great time (despite suffering from some back pain) and I am looking forward to the year ahead. It really is an honor to be the President for this year. Be sure to check out the photos over the page, and there are plenty more at our Facebook page (Dont worry if you dont have Facebook there is still a way you can view them). Past President Kristin (and Treasurer for this year) has informed me that the raffle we held on the night for Hat Day raised $184, plus a further $45 was donated to Hat Day a grand total of $229 going to Mental Health Research. We also got $70.55 in fines, which member Michael Keys matched dollar for dollar a grand total of $141.10 which will be for Polio Plus. The sales of Entertainment Books are also going well, however we still have some Canberra editions left a bargain at $55. Dont forget that $11 purchased from each book comes straight to the club to assist with fundraising. You may th have also seen an email go out about the special happening until July 13 if you purchase online any of the editions you get free shipping. So if you can help us spread the word to your family and friends we would appreciate it if you forward the email/link on to them. July is a busy month, starting tonight with our Guest Speaker Anne Pratt from Home in Queanbeyan. I also encourage everyone who has not yet Registered for the Australian Rotary Success Conference, which is being held in Canberra later this month, to be sure to visit the Rotary Down Under site soon to register as the cut off date is approaching very soon. It should be a great weekend, and even if you can only make it for part of it I am sure you will have a good time. Thanks again everyone, President Natalie

Friendship Beyond Club Functions (FBCF) You might have noticed a few FBCF events listed in our calendar in the upcoming months. This was an idea discussed at the President Elect training earlier this year. It is purely a chance for Rotarians, friends and family to have a social outing of some kind (other than socializing at club functions). Our first two FBCF events are a trip to the movies in August and a Coffee & Cake morning tea in October. We will see how these first two go, and if successful we will try to have a FBCF event ever few months. If you have any suggestions for what types of outings we should host, please let us know.
