MAGICAL MEXICO!
After my time in northern Mexico, I traveled south to meet missionaries in Oaxaca. Although we had never met each other in person, I knew Id love them instantly. Hes a church planter, shes a midwife; and together You comprehend with their 5 my path and my children, they lying down, And are acquainted with are ministering all my ways. to the indigenes Psalm 139:3 peoples of the region. After my 36 hour bus ride there, they lovingly arranged for me to stay in a lake home for a much needed Mountain Retreat. Afterward, we did midwifery stuff (teaching a breech class, outreach to the mountains, deliveries), and visited the city together (local markets, Zapoteca ruins, Cathedrals, etc.). I can honestly say I find the region to be magical with its vibrant colors, nuanced flavors, and ancient cultures! It is a side of Mexico I have never seen before but loved immensely. --even the deep fried crickets! At the start of the summer, Mexico was far from my mind. I would never have guessed that my path would veer in that direction --or for so long-but I am thankful that it did. -- So thankful! Next stop... MOZAMBIQUE!!!

~ Vision Tour ~
Many people have been surprised to learn that Im leaving for Mozambique in a few days. I thought I had been clearer about this vision tour, but I guess not. That is my fault. So please allow me to explain again. When I got back to the States last Spring, I had so many options that my head was spinning. So I started praying for closed doors on the opportunities that were distractions. And God in His faithfulness, answered that prayer rather quickly. Practically overnight, all my options for Sudan disappeared... and new opportunities presented themselves. As I prayed over these possibilities, God remained quiet on the subject. His silence reiterated a lesson He wanted to teach me. I am to walk by faith and not by sight (2 Cor 5:7). Was I willing to follow Him even if I didnt have all the facts? Was I able to wait on His timing without forcing my own? Was I capable of letting go of Sudan?

Praise & Prayer

MOZAMBIQUE BOUND
This summer has consisted of almost constant traveling, and it doesnt look like it will be stopping any time soon. In three days time, Ill embark on a new adventure --Mozambique and South Africa! Please pray for traveling mercies, good companions along the way, and His clear direction for the future.

With time, I was able to move forward. First He showed me new opportunities in Mexico, and now Hes taking me to Mozambique. I dont know all of what Ill find there. All I know is that He is leading me... and so Ill follow. Please pray with me as I scope out the country, the people, and the land. Ill spend a month praying over this opportunity and carefully considering the cost of starting a birthing clinic and midwifery school there. Please join me in prayer and follow along my adventures on my blog. In Him alone,

Thank You! Thank You!

In my last newsletter, I mentioned a few gifts I wanted to take with me for the orphans and missionaries in Moz. Well... several of you stepped up and gave either money or handmade gifts. I want you to know how thankful I am for your generosity.

NARM re-cert
Every three years I need to recertify for my NARM (which for those who do not know is my Midwifery boards). This requires a number of continuing education classes, chart review hours, and CPR cards. Im happy to say that it is finally complete. What a huge load off my shoulders!
