Key Club: Its not the old club your older sibling told you about. First Meeting September 8th Planning on meeting every other Thursday of each month (1st and 3rd) Attendance:

One can only miss 2 meetings before expulsion Sports: if you play a sport, we will write your name on an agenda and we will leave it in Mrs. Whalens room you have one day to pick it up; failure to do so will result in an absence Go over dates of probable meetings at the very first meeting Probable Dates: o September 8, 22 o October 6, 20 o November 3, 17 o December 1, 15 o January 5, 19 o February 2, 16 o March 1, 15 o April 5, 19 o May 3, 17 These are just possible dates; we can do more or less depending on the need for them

Dues Dues are due on October 6th and it is $25 Stress that one does not have to wait until then to turn in dues No dues = no membership

Key Club Meeting Planned Events 1. Teacher Workdays/Orientation Students (approx. 20) are needed for August 23rd and 24th Officers need to set up booth for the freshmen Anyone coming needs to bake 12-24 cookies to bring Posters are to be made and displayed throughout school to promote club

2. Dance Try to book the dance in the next few days at the YMCA (Tate) Sell tickets at lunch ($8) and at the door ($12) Raising the price at the door will hopefully encourage people to buy their tickets in advance Costs $500 to book the place and DJ Time 8:00-11:00 Date December 10th (Hopefully) 3. Banquet Date October 10th, 24th or November 7th Contact Shells to schedule catering Fall theme pumpkins, fall colors, leaves, etc. Try to make it more exciting and family friendly Games: bingo, raffle, tablecloths to doodle on Guest Speaker: Mrs. Whalen Tate, Daniel, Kelly speak and delve into the history of Key Club (Powerpoint?) 4. Sipes Trunk-or-Treat Get in contact with overseers of the event Schedule a date Advertise in Key Club 5. Bell Ringing Adult must be with students AT ALL TIMES!! Contact Salvation Army for dates, times, etc. 6. Angel of the Arts Must have more than 2 attend ADVERTISE! Contact to get dates, times

Key Club Meeting Possible Projects 1. T-Shirts Make them to sell to members (Hopefully $10-$15 each) Not required, but strongly recommended for community events Use for convention Sell at the Banquet Make them fun and exciting 2. Adopt-A-Family Find a local family and help them by donating food, clothing, etc. Money donations are okay, but not preferred Year-long activity 3. World AIDs Ribbons/Bracelets Sell them at football game/homecoming (?) Raise money for organizations helping to battle AIDs worldwide Could be seasonal or year-long

4. Water for Africa Sell water bottles at lunch for $1 Proceeds go to organization that promotes clean drinking water to those who dont have it in Africa 5. Movie Night Sell tickets for pizza and help raise money for Boys and Girls Club/Salvation Army/Convention expenses Projector on sports field or, if raining, use cafeteria Find a movie all would enjoy (PG or PG-13) 6. CCM/Salvation Army Field Trip Once a semester we will take a trip to one of these places to help serve the less fortunate Ask Mrs. Taylor for permission Officers need to meet with the overseers at lunch/before and converse/talk with them We want it to be an eye-opening experience to those who dont know what it is like to do without Contact Organizations and get information (dates, times, etc.)

Each committee is designed to help with the overall functioning of the club Each committee will consist of 2-6 club members with an officer overseeing each committee Committees will last as long as they are need; some may be a month, others may be all year After every meeting there will be a committee briefing, giving us news about each committee 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. 8. 9. 10. I can email/facebook members of each committee and give them tasks/info and update them on their committees status

Anna and I are going to get together tomorrow to discuss the committee business and how to go about it in an organized manner, so hopefully this will be further developed by the time school starts.
