ADMISSION POLICY FOR KINDERGARTEN School Year 2013 - 2014 I. ADMISSION

1. All applicants to Xavier School Nuvali are required to go through the admissions screening
process. The purpose of the admissions screening process is to determine whether or not Xavier School Nuvalis Kindergarten Program will be suitable and beneficial to the applicant. 2. All applicants are required to undergo Vision and Hearing Screening Tests. Results of the tests should be submitted with the other requirements before testing. 3. Parents will be informed whether or not the applicant is accepted, but the details of actual test scores will remain confidential. II. GENERAL NORMS

1. An applicant will succeed in meeting the requirements of the Xavier Kindergarten Program if
he/she performs satisfactorily in the following skill areas: Attention Span (Can the applicant sit through a 15-30 minute period?) Interpersonal Skills (Can the applicant get along with others?) Communication Skills in English and Filipino: Comprehension (Can the applicant understand what is asked of him/her?) Expression (Can the applicant articulate hi/hers needs?) Competence (Can the applicant understand and follow directions/instructions?) Self-Discipline (Can the applicant finish a given task?) Stress Tolerance (Can the applicant participate actively in group activities even when under the normal pressure of multiple instructions and activities?) 2. The school also takes the following into account: a. the willingness of the parents of the student applicant to collaborate actively with the school in the education and formation of the student (which includes the parents acceptance of the school policies, especially those found in the student handbook); b. the willingness of the applicant and his/her parents to be involved in important school activities; c. the extent to which the applicants family environment is open to, and supportive of the Catholic Christian values espoused by the school.
IMPORTANT: The completion of the requirements for a grade level in Xavier School Nuvali is not a guarantee that a student will be promoted to the next grade level. A passing grade means that a student has met the requirements of the Department of Education. At Xavier School, a student is promoted to the next grade/year level based on the schools policies on promotion.

III. AGE REQUIREMENT Applicants who were born from July 01, 2007 to June 01, 2008 (Between ages 5 and 6 years old by June 01, 2013)

Two (2) copies of recent identical family picture in size 4R (scanned & computerized pictures not allowed) to be pasted on the Application Form and the Student Information Sheet. VI. APPLICATION PROCEDURE APPLICATION PROCEDURE WILL BE DONE IN XAVIER SCHOOL SAN JUAN AND XAVIER SCHOOL NUVALI, PLEASE FOLLOW THE FOLLOWING STEPS: 1. Present the following pre-application requirements to the Registrars Office: a. Letter of Intent b. NSO Copy of Birth Certificate ( original copy) c. photocopy of First Quarter Evaluation of Performance in the current level d. original copy of Report Card in the previous level (for all levels applicants, except Kinder) 2. Get a Payment Slip for the Application and Testing fee from the Registrars Office. 3. Pay the non-refundable Application Fee of P500.00 in cash to the Accounting Office. 4. Present the receipt of payment and claim the Application Kit. 5. Submit the following to the Registrars Office for checking: a. Duly accomplished Application Form b. Duly accomplished Health Record Form c. Duly accomplished Recommendation Form d. Vision & Hearing Screening Test Results e. All Other Required Documents 6. Upon completion of the required documents, you will be issued a Test Schedule and Test Permit. 7. Report to the Testing and Research Center on the scheduled testing date at least ten (10) minutes before the scheduled testing session. Be sure to bring the test permit. NO TEST PERMIT, NO ENTRANCE EXAMINATION. VII. TESTING

1. Applicants are expected to report to the Testing and Research Center (Xavier School San Juan) or
(Xavier School Nuvali) at least ten (10) minutes before the scheduled testing session. Due to the tight schedule and the nature of the testing, latecomers will not be entertained.

2. Requests for the postponement of testing will not be granted. Likewise, tardiness due to heavy
traffic, missed schedule, etc. will not be considered valid reasons for postponement.

3. Testing may be reset only if:

a. the applicant is sick (A medical certificate from the attending physician is required); b. there is death in the family; c. the school calls off classes/offices due to inclement weather or other unforeseen events.

4. In case of applicants who refuse to enter the examination room, rescheduling of the testing will be
accommodated. However, should the applicant fail to enter the examination room after being given three (3) chances, his application will be automatically cancelled. VIII. APPLICATION RESULTS

1. Results will be released by batches depending on the applicants test schedule. 2. No results will be released by telephone. 3. Results of application will have to be picked up at the Registrars Office (Xavier School San
Juan) or the Principals Office (Xavier School Nuvali). They will not be sent to you.

4. Parents or their representatives may get the results. Representatives are required to present an
Authorization Letter and an ID for proper identification.

5. If the results are not picked up 4 days after the release date of the test results, we will assume that
you are no longer interested in your childs admission to Xavier School Nuvali. application will be automatically cancelled. His/Her

IX. ENROLLMENT RESERVATION FOR ACCEPTED APPLICANTS The parents of applicants who have been accepted are required to:

1. Make a reservation to express their intention to enrol their child in Xavier School Nuvali.
N.B. The acceptance letter will include instructions on how to make this reservation and to pay the required Reservation Fee. 2. Submit photocopy of parents marriage certificate if applicable. X. SESSION/SECTION ASSIGNMENTS FOR ACCEPTED APPLICANTS

1. The school reserves the right to assign the section of accepted applicants. 2. Class lists will be posted during the Parents Orientation Day.
