Venue: Matiao Central Elementary School, Matiao, City of Mati

Participants: All Teachers Teaching Grades 4-6 Science Subject

I. Rationale:
Every teacher should be properly guided and equipped with the know-how of teaching
and learning process through revisiting and reviewing some areas or concerns in performing
the duties and responsibilities of an effective and efficient teacher. Teachers need to be fully-
equipped with the 21st Century Learning Skills such as the Knowledge, Skills, Attitude and
Values or the KSAV’s. Through the Dep-Ed Program like having seminar-workshop such
District Level Training on Pedagogical Retooling in Mathematics, Languages, and Science
(PRIMALS) and Demonstration Teaching For Grade 4-6 (Science Subject Only) this boost
and enhance the teachers’ talents and abilities to achieve the quality of education.
Collaboration of ideas and teamwork of teachers play a vital aspect in developing the young
minds of learners - the center of educative process. It likewise develop pupils to be lifelong
learners to develop positive attitudes, critical thinking and be able to compete globally

II. Objectives: 1. To enrich the knowledge on the 21st century skills in the K to 12 Curriculum.
2. To deepen the understanding of unpacking the curriculum guide.
3. To heighten the comprehension on the learning progression and learning target to
address the needs of the learners.
5. To apply the Inquiry-Based Learning (IBL) Strategy and 5 E’s (Engage, Explore,
Explain, Elaborate and Evaluation) in teaching.
6. To enhance the art of asking question to develop critical thinking skills.
7. To increase the apprehension in aligning curriculum, instruction and assessment.
8. To boost and apply knowledge on explicit teaching of reading comprehension
skills.
9. To comprehensively learn and employ the connection of reading and writing as
well as bridging the gap in language content.

V. Rationale :

As per DepED Order No. 18, s.2014 it stated that to evaluate teachers performance
there is a need to conduct In-service Training (INSET) activities in support to continuing
professional development. This advocacy of the Department of Education implies that every
teacher should be properly guided and equipped with the know-how of teaching and learning
process through revisiting and reviewing some areas or concerns in performing the duties and
responsibilities of an effective and efficient teacher. Teachers need to be fully-equipped with
the 21st Century Learning Skills such as the Knowledge, Skills, Attitude and Values or the
KSAV’s. Through the Dep-Ed Program like having School Learning Action Cell this would
boost and enhance the teachers’ talents and abilities to achieve the quality of education.
Collaboration of ideas and teamwork of teachers play a vital aspects in developing the young
minds of learners - the center of educative process It likewise develop pupils to be lifelong
learners to develop positive attitudes, critical thinking and be able to compete globally.

process through revisiting and reviewing some areas or concerns in performing the duties and
