NATASHA HAWS TO RELEASE NEW SINGLE 'STRANGER' NOVEMBER 12TH

Natasha Haws sounds like a lost member of Animal Collective (not that I recall Animal Collective ever penning such deliciously acidic lyrics, delivered in a dry, deadpan vocal). - The Fly What sets Ms Haws apart is being abrasive and edgy and funny and outrageous and sassy - as well as being sensitive and melodic. What a great talent and lovely songwriter. She has the potential to be enormous. - Tom Robinson, BBC Introducing "Natasha Haws plays spine-tingling music that belies her tender years. It's clear with her lyrics that Haws is an artist with her own identity." - NARC Magazine Beautifully fragile, it swoons over a gently plucked guitar, yet there's an underlying sense of strength and selfawareness which prevents her music from becoming too saccharine. There's no over-blown theatrics here, just real, honest song-writing. Tipping Point, Generator Haws is a scarily precocious musician, whose songs are as delicately beautiful as her voice. One of the best things about her is how natural and unforced her songs seem, resulting in an almost uncomfortable level of emotional impact. Drowned in Sound

Following the release of her dbut EP in May, Natasha Haws' first single, Stranger, will be released November 12th, 2012. Now signed to Tiny Lights Recordings, Stranger is a step towards a grander, more sophisticated sound for Natasha Haws. The track itself will be released for review shortly. The track will be available to download, as well as on limited edition physical CD. Thundering, tribal drums, alongside Natasha's trademark elegant vocals make this a track laden with both vulnerability and foreboding. Murky, and vast, this tale of moral entanglements and true love's poor-timing invokes the moody intensity of the likes of PJ Harvey, Warpaint, and Zola Jesus. Since beginning to write her own music one year ago, Natasha has gigged around the country and racked up support slots with acts such as The Futureheads, Stephen Fretwell, Lucy Rose, Willy Mason and Karima

Francis (after only two performances). She has also been hand-picked for appearances at Split Festival, Evolution Emerging, and Willowman Festival this summer. A UK tour will follow the single release, beginning November and hitting cities the length of the country. Dates are listed below.

Strangers accompanying video will be unveiled in the coming weeks, produced by revered photographer Ian West, who has previously put his distinctive stamp on videos for Hyde and Beast, The Futureheads and The Lake Poets. A launch night to celebrate the singles release will be held at Newcastles prestigious Literary and Philosophical Society on November 9th. The gig will feature a rare performance by gently-does-it genius (NME) singer-songwriter Lucas Renney, along with other special appearances. The single will feature a bonus track, a cover of The Futureheads' Heartbeat Song. Natasha duets on the track with the band's front-man Barry Hyde, with strings courtesy by The Futureheads' bassist Jaff.
