Our dearly departed Prophet and Brother, Musstaffa Moose Ariss April 1, 1978 - September 9, 2012

The Monarchs Message

My fellow Prophets, I have mixed feelings about my message this month. On September 9, 2012, prophet Musstaffa Moose Ariss was called from labor as a result of congestive heart failure. He was a very well-liked, warm-hearted guy, and he will be missed. He managed the Grotto website for some time, without asking for anything in return. May you rest in peace, dear brother. At 3:37 am on September 22, 2012, (the highlight of a fathers life to be exact), my wife and I welcomed our third child into the world - Trystan Parker Plucinski. Weighing in at a healthy 8 lbs, 10 oz, Trystan is a beautiful boy - I am quite the lucky man!

Now, onto Grotto events! On October 20, 2012, at the urging of prophet Ralph Morton, Chief Justice Dan Hood will be hosting a Bourdon Sampler event - It should be a lot of fun. Our October meeting follows the week after, and all prophets and their families are invited to the after-meeting dinner at Chi Chis Pizza! Happy Halloween everyone!

I never had the opportunity meet our recently departed brother and prophet, Moose. In conversations with my fellow brothers, his name came up many times. As it is usual and customary for me to do so, I googled Mooses name. I came across a blog that he had created back in March of 2012. There are only a few entries, but his initial post really stood out: A Real biker is someone who loves the wind in their face, rolling down the road, feeling everything around them, appreciating what God has created. A real biker is someone who will jump on and hit the road for miles on end without hesitation or worries about what may lay ahead down the road. This short paragraph tells me that Moose loved riding his motorcycle, and it is something I can surely appreciate. I may not have been fortunate enough to meet Moose, or share this interest with him. In the grand scheme of things, my personal relationship with Moose does not matter one bit - it is what we have both been through to become Masons. We are all connected, and will be forever. Prior to his passing, Moose listed himself as maybe going on our Facebook event page that profiled our September meeting. On the event page, Prophet Dave Taylor wrote, the maybe column says Moose may be going!! He will be there with us for sure. Dave was right - during our meeting, he was. And, Moose will always be there. Im sure we will all see him one day, riding his motorcycle, the wind in his face, catching those rays of light that us Masons will forever share.
