Meeting: Clinton County Emergency Planning and Preparedness Committee (CCEPAP) Date: 09/18/2012 Location: Ericksen Community Center

1. The meeting was called to order at 10:03 a.m. and introductions were made. 2. A motion to approve the previous meeting minutes was made by Chief Porter and seconded by Supervisor Staszewski. Motion Carried. 3. Updates a. Board of Health/Public Health Michele Cullen reported that they are gearing up for flu clinics and will be going in to schools starting on October 1st and that public clinics were starting that week. b. Communications Eric Dau reported that the Mock System has been installed it allows for better communications in the field, and also allows those with access to see where law enforcement is on their patrols. It also enables Deputies to run their own license plate and drivers license searches. On a different note, Dau reported that his office is now fully staffed again, and that a Telecommunicator use their EMD system to talk someone through delivering a baby over the phone a first for the local call center. c. County Engineer/Public Works N/A d. Elected Officials Supervisor Staszewski reported that they are currently working on the Annex in DeWitt and hope to have the Sheriffs Office portion functional by Christmas. e. Emergency Management Chance Kness reported that there are several upcoming classes, training and drills including a ground search class, 2 Radiological Drills (one FEMA evaluated), and that he is working on ICS 300 & 400 Classes which will likely take place in January and February. f. Fire/EMS Nothing to report g. Hospitals DeWitt Genesis Hospital is working on an Active Shooter Drill, with the tentative drill date in November h. Human Services Nothing to report i. j. Industry N/A Law Enforcement Chief Porter reported that DeWitt made it through Homecoming Week and has Autumn Fest coming up. They are also working in conjunction with the local school district to roll out the ALICE program. Tom Paarmann from the Sheriffs Office reported that they are seeking a

Governors Traffic Safety Grant to possibly include a speed trailer. He also wanted to remind people that its harvest season, and to be extra cautions. k. Schools Superintendent Tom Parker (Camanche) said that they are going into Homecoming Week. He also expressed interest in the ALICE program. Chief Porter gave a brief overview to the group and explained how the ALICE concept is a change from previous methods. l. Volunteer Organizations/NGOs - Jolene Carpenter from the Red Cross reminded everyone that September is National Preparedness Month, and encouraged people to do something to prepare. She also discussed several Apps that are now available through the red cross. The annual Run for the Red will be on Saturday, November 18th in DeWitt. She also encouraged blood donations as the local blood supply is down. Lois and Bill Hall from the local K9 Search and Rescue Team reported that they have had several callouts and trainings recently. They were also recently that the Death Investigators Seminar where they gave a presentation and attended events. They also reported that they have also recently updated their radios will should be helpful if they are called for mutual aid. They will be at several upcoming events, including the Clinton Fire Open House (10/6 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.) and the Camanche Fire Open House (10/13 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.). m. Other N/A 4.
