The Muslims Without Shariah are like Fish Without Water

Many Muslims do not understand the signi cance of the Shariah in their lives as well as its importance in society. It is probably one of the main reasons why we nd ourselves struggling to nd a solution to the problems we face as individuals today, such as who is a good partner to marry, which school we should put our kids in, and what job is allowed or not, not to mention the problems of society such as pornography, alcohol, usury (interest), promiscuity, education, drugs, recession, foreign policy etc. One must clearly be able to make the link between the problems such an individual faces as a Muslim regarding getting the right job, nding the right partner (to marry) etc. and the Law and Order which governs his or her society ; this is because all of the other systems that function in a society stem from the governance, so in reality if the governance is corrupt then the people will become corrupt and misguided as well. This is one of the reasons why the Dawah of the Messenger (saw) in the early stages of Makkah was directed to the rulers (the King of the Persians and Hercules of the romans). The rulers are to be accounted for the a airs of their people and they will either be a source of goodness and guidance for them or a source of corruption and misguidance. The downfall of society or people will begin with its ruling. The nal Messenger Muhammad (saw) said, The knots of Islam will be broken one by one until every one of them is undone. The rst to be undone will be the knot of ruling and the last will be the knot of Salah. [Musnad Imam Ahmed] However, on the other hand the change that will take place in order to correct the misguidance and corruption of the ruling class will naturally come from the people. As they will be able to see and feel the oppression of the rulers themselves. As was the case of the Anbiya (Prophets) like Musa (Moses), Isa (Jesus) and Muhammad (saw) and those before them. Allah (SWT) says, He (Allah) has ordained for you the same religion (Islam) which He ordained for Nuh (Noah), and that which We have inspired in you (O Muhammad), and that which We ordained for Ibrahim (Abraham), Musa (Moses) and Isa (Jesus) saying you should establish religion (i.e. to do what it orders you to do practically), and make no divisions in it (religion). Intolerable for the Mushrikun , is that to which you (O Muhammad ) call them. Allah chooses for Himself whom He wills, and guides unto Himself who turns to Him in repentance and in obedience. [42 :13] In our time the root and permanent solution lays in the re-establishment of the Shariah from which all other a airs of society will become correct as it is based on the Wahi (revelation). In our time the one who calls and works for the Shariah is a sign of his

Sidq (truthfulness) and the one who speaks against it is a sign of Nifaaq (hypocrisy) and the one who is silent about it needs to re-evaluate his Deen. Allah says Allah has promised those among you who believe, and do righteous good deeds, that He will certainly grant them succession to (the present rulers) in the earth, as He granted it to those before them, and that He will grant them the authority to practise their religion, that which He has chosen for them (Islam). And He will surely give them in exchange a safe security after their fear (provided) they (believers) worship Me and do not associate anything (in worship) with Me. But whoever disbelieved after this, they are the Fasiqun (rebellious, disobedient to Allah). [24 :55] What is stranger than people saying we do not need the Shari ah or saying the system and the way we live is corrupt? Particularly when it comes from individuals who do not nd any problem in the state in which we live ; he or she does not nd a problem with all the alcohol, fornication, atheism, shirk and all other forms of corruption in society. This is from the punishments of Allah on his slave to make his heart unconcerned with the a airs of the ummah and happy with the Kufr and disobedience. The Messenger Muhammed (saw) said, "The example of the one who stands for the Deen of Allah and the one who has left it are like the people in a boat, some of whom occupy the upper deck and some occupy the

lower deck. Whenever those in the lower deck need water, they have to go to the upper deck to retrieve it. So some of them said, why don 't we make a hole in our deck so we do not harm the people of the upper deck?' If the people do not stop them, they will all fall and be failures, but if they stop them they will all be saved "[Bukhari] Brothers and sisters in Islam we must understand that it is fard (obliged) upon us to work for the Shari ah in accordance to the methodology of the Messenger Muhammad (saw). By us living in the West must provide for them an alternative not only in belief (from kufr to eeman) but for the society (from man-made laws to divine laws) as well. One must not restrict his understanding to the former but follow its manifestation into society. We will be accounted for all the disobedience the people are doing by us witnessing it every day. Allah (SWT) says, And fear the Fitnah (a iction and trial, etc.) which a ects not in particular (only) those of you who do wrong (but it may a ict all the good and the bad people), and know that Allah is Severe in punishment.[EMQ 8:25] Dear brother/sister, it is impossible to explain all the details (i.e. how to change society, corruption of the rulers in the east and west etc. in one lea et), so do not hesitate in speaking to us or emailing or ringing us so that we can resolve any misunderstandings.
