Chandini is a 3 year old girl with really pretty smile, but she rarely smiles Chotu loves to talk

to people but rarely does Lata loves to study but she doesnt And then there is this 3 month old kid who feels the pain, but never cries If you are wondering why, then let me explain. Chandinis mother in jail and Chandini is being bought up in a government funded Nari Niketan. Chotu has severe Down syndrome and this has resulted in mental retardation and hearing and vision impairment. Latas limbs do not work properly and make every movement difficult for her and the 3 month old child was found in a dustbin and his lungs are so weak that he cant even cry like any other infant. And these are just a few examples of children whom we are trying to help This is our project folks, WE! When these children, I, and even you stand together, it becomes WE! WE is a students community working for betterment of life of people who are less privileged than us. WE believe that we can do more than sitting and talking about societys conditions, WE believe that every child is special, WE believe that change can come and most importantly, WE believe that CHANGE BEGINS WITH US. Can you imagine a day without cell phones? If not, than imagine life of a retarded child who fails to communicate and express his feelings. A power cut at night may trouble you a lot, but imagine a life in darkness without vision. You may feel that your parents dont understand you, but imagine growing up without a mothers lullaby and fathers concern. Most of us can not even imagine what these children have gone through at this tender age. WE are trying to make a difference in their lives. WE help them to dream of a better tomorrow. WE want to show them that there is still humanity left in this world. Most of you would have often thought of doing something good, you may have often pitied life of such children, or even some of you may be ready to extend a helping hand to them. WE are just like you but WE decided to put our thoughts into action. We do not promise to change the lives of these children, but WE Aim to bring a smile to these beautiful faces. Currently we are working with different NGOs of Udaipur which include an orphanage (Mahesh Ashram), a blind school, and a school for mentally disabled children (Prachya Shodh Peeth Prayaas) and Nari Niketan. We are trying to help these institutes by running various programs

to provide knowledge to these children and to teach them to dream. We are working on audio methods to teach the children of blind school, so that they can see the world in a different way. Mahesh Ashram works for Babies left for Dying. At present 15 babies of weight less than 2 Kg. are getting care and we are trying to spread the word so that fewer babies are left to die and more get the opportunity to live life. Every child is unique and special, and believing in this, we work with kids at Prayaas. These kids suffer from various mental diseases like Autism, Cerebral Palsy, Down syndrome and Mental retardation. We try to put their creative skills to use and involve them in art and craft activities. The girls at Nari Niketan have either been abandoned by their parents or have parents in jail. We spend time with these girls and try to teach them computer, cooking and even singing and dancing so that they may never loose the fire in them. One thing is common in all these kids, the zeal to survive We are trying to make sure that the fire never dies down. And for all those who feel moved by the pain in society and have the will to change it, WE give you an opportunity for it. You can join us for the cause by volunteering for our programs or making small donations to these organizations.
