Jennifer Du - Schroeder 11/15/12 Process Paper The reason why I reach the point of choosing Chinas entry into

the Korean War, as my 2013 History Fair Day topic is because I was recently very interested into Southeast Asia and their culture and I also did the Vietnam War as my topic last year. So I came to the conclusion of choosing the general topic of the Korean War and then a little more specifically, to Chinas entry which created a turning point inside the war. But I thought if I could somehow connect the wars turning point into a huge turning point inside the world then it could help me get to State which also helped me come to this topic. Thinking that if I could take Chinas entry, as a precedent and/or example for all the other similar entries into other wars. Which increases my views about the repetition of the situation that the world and war seemingly is always is placed in. I am actually still conducting my research with finding people online to interview and talk about the Korean War. As I am friends with a few college students, I can ask them to ask their professors at their colleges. And also the library includes a lot of books I can read into or scan, but also with poems all small stanzas of songs during the time of the Korean War helps me bit by bit in my research. Also a few selected sites online have helped me in my research like History.com, which helped give me a broad and general idea about what the war about about. Choosing a website to do has been a habit since about the 7th grade when I worked with another student, it was something that fit for me, since I enjoyed technology, design and graphics. And also when I was in Junior High, I made a lot of Forums and small websites for fun, so it was just a obvious choice for me. But, this year I was planning to make my own layout and use Adobe Flash Professional to create some interesting details on my website. However, this year would be the first time I did an individual history fair project, so lets just see how well my project actually turns out as I deal with stress and paranoia horribly. My project correlates with this years theme because well, its a war. While war is a very general topic that could span several fields, wars also have been turning points in many aspects, like communism and countries separation. However there could be a little more to that, like peoples point of views. And thats what the Korean War was about; a separation of two different powers who both had different views on politics, economics and also social ideas. Chinas entry was a turning inside the war, so its a turning within a turning so, correlating with the theme wasnt really that hard to see. Words: 491
