Research Interests Primary interests: Warring States (5th-3rd c. BCE) Chinese thought; early Chinese intellectual, legal, and political history; state formation and theories of rulership in early China. Other interests: trans-Pacific migration issues, oral history and folklore, history of the Overseas Chinese diaspora, urban (re)development and its effects on the historical preservation of Chinatown, also immigration and social justice issues in Canada.
