Dr Thorneycroft Huxtable came to see Sherlock Holmes and Watson and told them about kidnapping of the son

of the Duke of Holderness, one of the greatest and one of the richest men in the country, andoffered them five thousand pounds for news of his son, and another one thousand pounds for the nameof his kidnapper.Sherlock Holmes accepted the case and asked him to tell everything about kidnapping.Dr Huxtable began his story: My school is the best school for young boys in England, The Duke wantedto send his ten years old son to my school, on the 1st of May he arrived. His life at home was not veryhappy; her mom, the Duchess, left the Duke and lives in the France now, but the boy loved his mother, and was very unhappy when she left. Then, on the night of the 13 th o May, he disappeared. We think hewent out the windows and down the ivy to the ground. Heidegger, the German teacher, was missing too.He went down the ivy and took his bicycle with him. Then after some questions and answers they went off to the north. When they arrived at school, the Duke and his secretary was there. After some conversations they leftand Holmes started to work on the case. He said to Watson: Look at this map. The boy and the teacher didnt go along the road, because there was a police man and I spoke to him and he saw nobody on theroad. And there at the other end is the white horse inn and the family saw nobody neither. In the north wehave the Ragged Shaw trees, and the Lowe Gill Moor, it is possible to ride a bicycle across the moor.Just then Dr Huxtable came quickly into the room and said: One of my gardeners found the boys hat innorth of Ragged Shaw.By six oclock they were through Ragged Shaw, and then they were on Lower Gill Moor, they foundhundreds of the sheep tracks, and some cow tracks, and track of a bicycle. This tyre is a Dunlop, but Heideggers bicycle had palmer tyres. Holmes said.Later Holmes found the tracks of Palmer tyre. For a kilometer they followed the Palmer tyre north acrossthe moor. Suddenly, the track stopped. On one of the yellow flowers there was blood. They soon foundthe bicycle, and a body. It was the German teacher. Watson went and got the workman who was workingthere, and Holmes wrote a note for Dr Huxtable, gave that to workman and he began to run down the hillto Ragged Shaw.Holmes said: lets think for a minute. First, the boy left freely. But the German teacher left without hissocks, so he left suddenly. And why did he go? Because from his bedroom he saw the boy and maybe hewanted to bring him back. And Heidegger dies because someone hits him very hard on the head. For now, the Palmer tyre can tell us nothing, so we must go back to the Dunlop tyre.
