EXPERIENCE THE PLEASURE OF NATURAL THERMAL INSULATION

ISOCELL is thermal insulation made from cellulose fibre, manufactured from newspaper in an optimized recycling process. Basically, ISOCELLs raw material is wood with its excellent properties that have been known for hundreds of years. ISOCELL is produced in Austria, Belgium and France in plants rating amongst the most modern in Europe. The pre-sorted newspaper supplied to the plant is cut into rough fibres, mixed with mineral salts and finally ground in a mill. The mineral salts protect ISOCELL from vermin and mould and make it resistant to rotting and fire.

WHAT IS ISOCELL?

Production is subject to strict quality criteria through internal and external monitoring for German, Austrian and European certification. Outstanding features of the long-fibre flock are its extremely low thermal conductivity and its non-settling characteristics. ISOCELL is non-toxic, contains no dangerous substances or additives and is pleasantly soft and warm to the touch. It does not irritate the skin and is non-aggressive and is therefore known as a friendly insulation. The cellulose fibres are blown into the cavities using machines operated by approved specialist companies.

The fields of use for ISOCELL Cellulose insulation are numerous. ISOCELLs blowing system ensures a seamless insulation with no waste. It saves you time and money. You might consider using the material for a new construction or a refurbishment project, for a low-energy house or passive house construction, for a pitched roof, for ceiling systems, floors, outer and inner walls in wood frame construction, insulation of inner walls, faade insulation, storage tanks, installation ducts, etc.

AREAS OF APPLICATION

LOOSE FILL: this system is used mainly for the insulation of floors where the insulation layer is thin. OPEN BLOW: the preferred method for seamless insulation of upper level ceilings and floors between joists. BLOW-IN: the technique for all cavities that are sealed inside and out before blowing procedure. Inside the cavity the cellulose fibre mats, creating a perfectly fitting, seamless insulation mat that settles well without slipping. Depending on the application a hose, a jet or a lance is used for blowing. SPRAYING: this technique is used in vertical sections of open constructions as e.g. stud walls that are open on one side (installation level, intermediate walls), for sound insulation coatings on ceilings and vaulted ceilings, for interior cellulose insulation without vapour barrier that can be plastered over, as used in the thermal renovation of listed facades.

OPTIMUM THERMAL VALUES

Its low thermal conductivity value is not the only outstanding feature of ISOCELL. Everyone knows that any insulation is only as good as its weakest point. ISOCELL cellulose insulation fills even the narrowest of gaps and cracks. The result is a seamless insulation mat without thermal bridges.

EXCELLENT HEAT SHIELD

The high storage capacity of ISOCELL cellulose insulation means there is a considerable delay in the passage of the suns radiated warmth. Even attics stay cool until well into the night, meaning undisturbed sleep for you. In the same way that the U value can be calculated for thermal insulation, heat protection can also be measured. In this case we speak of phase lag. The PHI phase lag indicates in hours the time a temperature wave needs to move from the outside of a construction to the room inside. The greater the temporal shift in heat transition, the longer the heating of the buildings interior will take!

GREATER SOUND INSULATION

Dense and seamlessly installed cellulose insulation also offers considerable advantages in this field. In comparative tests on intermediate walls the sound insulation values were up to 7dB higher compared with conventional fibre matting.

GREATER FIRE PROTECTION

More and more often ISOCELL proves its superiority in fire protection compared with conventional insulating materials, as proved in successful fire protection tests on construction components from F30 to F90. With EN classification B-s2-d0 ISOCELL Cellulose insulation achieves one of the best ratings possible for inflammable insulation materials.

MOISTURE REGULATION
Without any loss of its thermal properties ISOCELL Cellulose insulation is capable of storing moisture and releasing it again. This specific moisture- saving capacity has a regulatory effect on room climate. In refurbishment or flat roof systems without rear ventilation ISOCELL serves as moisture buffer in the sense of construction physics. In addition, the air and wind-tightness in wood constructions is considerably higher compared with conventional fibre matting. Altogether, the natural characteristics of cellulose fibre in combination with ISOCELLs blowing technology fulfil the highest demands in respect of room climate and energy saving.

FOR THE BENEFIT OF OUR ENVIRONMENT

It is a well-known fact that good insulation not only saves heat energy but also conserves the environment. From an ecological point of view the production of ISOCELL Cellulose insulation is also unbeatable: compared with other insulation materials, such as polystyrene or glass wool, the primary energy input is much lower. It is one sixth of that required for the production of polystyrene and one third compared with glass fibre production.

The professional blower arrives on site with his truck and brings everything he needs with him: the blowing machine and the material. The construction engineer, carpenter or dry-lining expert has already installed an airtight vapour barrier and the mounting battens for the inner cladding. Only the blowing hose must be brought up to the top floor, no cumbersome material. The bags are filled into the machine on the truck. One product for floors, walls and ceiling an easy task for the builder who saves the money otherwise required for a helper.

The trained blower controls the blowing machine using radio controls and fills the cavities that have been prepared two floors higher with material that leaves no joints and settles without slipping. The cellulose fibres mat inside the construction and form a seamless insulation mat (everything runs smoothly!). The roof is insulated in just a few hours.

IMPORTANT! Electricity is necessary on site! 3-phase electric power with 16 amp circuit protection is required .
