Southeast Asia-involvement M&A reached US$119.7 billion, the highest YTD volume on record
FAST FACTS OUE announced to launch a tender offer to acquire the entire share capital of Fraser & Neave Ltd (F&N) for US$12.7 billion, one of the biggest deal involving Southeast Asian companies in history. The deal pushed the value of announced M&A involving Southeast Asia companies to reach US$119.7 billion to date, making it the highest YTD volume on record. The Consumer Staples industry accounted for 32.2% of the deal making activity involving Southeast Asian companies with US$38.5 billion, a seven-fold increase over the same period last year, bolstered by related activities in Fraser & Neave Ltd this year. Total value of deals targeting Singapore reached US$44.1 billion, up 174% from the comparative period last year.
