Club Information
Meets at Arizona Country Club Thursday at 12:10 PM Charter Date Founded in 1962

Special Guest David Reesor

David Reesor will share his travels to Antelope Canyon, the most-visited and most-photographed slot canyon in the American Southwest. It is located on Navajo land near Page, Arizona. Antelope Canyon includes two separate, photogenic slot canyon sections, referred to individually as Upper Antelope Canyon or The Crack; and Lower Antelope Canyon or The Corkscrew. The Navajo name for Upper Antelope Canyon is Ts bighnln, which means "the place where water runs through rocks." Lower Antelope Canyon is Hazdistaz (advertised as "Hasdestwazi" by the Navajo Parks and Recreation Department), or "spiral rock arches." Both are located within the LeChee Chapter of the Navajo Nation.

Wings of Peace
Louise Pennartz founded Wings of Peace, a West Valley non-profit, more than 15 years ago with one mission, "to serve anyone who is hungry." That mission includes Thanksgiving Day, when Pennartz's group, for the 15th straight year, will serve turkey, stuffing and all the trimmings, buffet-style at Knights of Columbus Hall in Glendale. The all-volunteer group depends solely on donations to serve those in need, expected to number about 500 on Thursday. Representatives of non-profits, churches and other groups say the need for food on a daily basis remains high. An extra effort is put forth to help the needy celebrate Thanksgiving. Volunteers are serving warm meals to thousands of families, seniors and homeless over the holiday week. Thousands more should receive food boxes with turkey, cranberry and other traditional holiday items. Nov 20 from 11am-1:30pm & Nov 22 from 8:30am-1:30pm Knights of Columbus 8066 N. 49th Ave Glendale, AZ, 85302 Volunteers can come for whatever time their schedule permits. The morning shift prepares for the lunch while the 2nd shift serves. Wings of Peace welcomes donations such as clothing, toiletries, dining items (plates, cups, forks), as well as cash donations.
