Nov. 30, 2012 Connie A. Morrash, of Anthracite Street and formerly of McCarragher Street, Wilkes-Barre, passed away Friday, Nov. 30, 2012, at home after a lengthy illness and surrounded by her loving family. Born Jan. 22, 1933, in Luzerne, she was a daughter of the late Sam and Ann Cicero-Savoca. She was a graduate of Luzerne High School, class of 1951. For the past 23 years, Connie worked as secretary/treasurer for her son at TM Supply, Luzerne. She was a member of the St. Mary's Antiochian Church in Wilkes-Barre and their Ladies Auxiliary. She was also an active member of the Parrish Street Card Club for the past 45 years. She was a volunteer for the American Heart Association. Mom was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who devoted her entire life to her family. She not only raised her own children, but she was also an irreplaceable influence on her grandchildren. You never see mom without one, two, three or more of her grandchildren at a time and their friends. "Sittu," as she was known to all of her family, proudly drove her car displaying her license plate, "Sittu 8," in honor of her eight grandchildren. You could never walk into Sittu's house, "Cunge's Kitchen," without smelling the delicious aroma of anything that she cooked. You always knew you were home. As we grew up on McCarragher Street, mom was not only our mom, she was the neighborhood mom. She was nurse, friend and confidant to what we have come to know as "The McCarragher Street Gang." She and her husband, Joseph, would have celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on July 12, 2013. In addition to her husband, Connie is survived by her children, Judy Muskauski, Baltimore, Md., Joseph and his wife, Debra Morrash, Irmo, S.C., Tony Morrash, Wilkes-Barre, Jane and her husband, Sal Tolomello, Dallas, Joyce Morrash Perloff, Dallas; grandchildren, Lauren Muskauski, Matthew, Morgan, Tony and Jennifer Morrash, Abrianna Tolomello, Carley and Sydney Perloff; sister, Josephine Johnston; aunts, Frances Disano, Sally Marchesi; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by brothers, Nicholas, Vince (Chipper) Savoca; and sister, Mary Ann Rosen. The family would like to thank all the people who helped care for our mom, especially the loving care provided by Dr. Patrick Kilduff. Mom touched more lives than we will ever know and will be greatly missed by all. Funeral will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. from Mamary-Durkin Funeral Service, 59 Parrish St., Wilkes-Barre. Services will be held at 11:30 a.m. in St. Mary A.O. Church, Wilkes-Barre. Interment will be in the parish cemetery, Hanover Township. Friends may call Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. in the funeral home. Those who desire may give memorial contributions to St. Mary's A.O. Church, 905 S. Main St., Wilkes-Barre or Hospice of the Sacred Heart, 600 Baltimore Drive, Wilkes-Barre.
