IMPLEMENTING RULES AND REGULATIONS (IRR)


IN THE CONDUCT OF

MAS Challenge
IRR 1.0 IRR 1.1 GENERAL GUIDELINES The MAS Challenge is an inter-school individual category written academic competition which shall cover all topics of Management Advisory Services. The MAS Challenge is open for application to BSA students who are bona fide members of the RF 7 JPIA F.Y 2012-2013, provided they have passed the pre-requisite course subjects they had taken which are covered by the topics of the MAS Challenge. QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS The Local Chapter (LC) must send only (2) representatives to join the contest. In case the LC fails to meet the minimum number of representatives to send to the competition, such failure may mean disqualification of the LC. The LC may send a petition if the reason of failing to meet the requirement is based on the fact that it is deemed reasonably excuse due to inevitable events and circumstances, subject for review and approval of the RF 7 JPIA Vice President for Academics. Each contestant must comply with the following requirements: IRR 2.4 Copy (photocopy/print) of study load or registration form in his respective school certifying that he is currently enrolled in his schools current semester or term. Photocopy of Student I.D. Registration fee of two hundred pesos (P100.00)

The registration fee shall be given to the RF 7 JPIA Vice President of Finance through the LC Presidents on or before August 23, 2012, together with the list of the registered contestants names. Hardcopy of all requirements (photocopy of ID and study load) must be given on the day of the contest during the registration period. Student IDs must also be surrendered before the contest to the registration staff. Failure to comply with the given requirements may mean disqualification for the contestant.

GENERAL CONTEST RULES AND MECHANICS

IRR 3.1

The MAS Challenge shall be a 2-hour written academic competition on all topics covered by Management Advisory Services. The monitoring personnel shall be composed of arbiters from the sponsoring firm as well as assigned persons empowered by the Regional Vice President for Academics. Any contestant caught cheating is considered disqualified in the competition. All questions regarding the competition must be directed solely to the arbiters. Contestants are to bring to the venue at least but not limited to two (2) Mongol 2 pencils, two (2) black pens, one (1) eraser, one (1) sharpener, and one (1) calculator with the jacket removed and deposited to the arbiters. Contestants are advised to be at their designated seats twenty (20) minutes before the scheduled time of the competition. The arbiters shall orient the contestants on how to answer the given questionnaires and/or answer sheets ten (10) minutes before the official start time of the competition. Questions and clarifications regarding the mechanics of the competition shall be entertained during this time period. Tardy contestants may still be eligible to join the competition provided they have complied with the requirements stated in IRR 2.3. However, no time extension will be granted to tardy contestants. Once the time has elapsed, contestants are to pass their papers to the arbiters regardless if they have successfully finished answering or not. Contestants who fail to pass their papers at the elapse of the given time period will be given a 5-point deduction for every minute past the designated time period. The sponsoring firm shall be responsible for tabulating the results of the competition and communicating the same to the Regional Vice President for Academics before the recognition of winners. The top three (3) contestants with the highest points shall advance to the national competition.
