The wayang kulit or shadow play originated from Jawa, Indonesia. Actually it is the art of making shadows of puppets come to life on a white screen. A white cotton cloth is stretched across the platform. The puppet master and his band of musicians sit behind the white screen. The platform, which is a stage, is made of bamboo. The puppet master or Tok Dalang moves the puppets and tells a story. In front of Tok Dalang is a long banana trunk. Here the brightly painted and movable puppets are held in place in place when not in use. The heroes are usually on the right side and the villains are on the left. The heroes are thin and finely outlined while the villains are fat and ugly. Above Tok Dalang is an electric lamp. There was a poor girl named Diana who lived with her parents in a village. She was very lucky because she had been chosen to enter the university. Her parents were very proud of her.
