1. Explain why creating resource mailboxes will improve the productivity of your organization. By creating resource mailboxes, users can use Outlook or Entourage to manage the booking of rooms and equipment within your organization. Without resource mailboxes, resources were typically book and managed by other processes within the organization. By adding a resource mailbox that has Automatic Booking enabled to a meeting request in Outlook or Entourage, you can receive immediate feedback if the resource is scheduled, which may not have been possible beforehand.

2. Explain how you can use custom attributes within recipient objects alongside dynamic distribution groups to simplify administration within Exchange Server 2007. By creating a standard for the 15 available custom attributes within each recipient object, you can create dynamic distribution groups to represent groups of recipients within your organization and eliminate the need for mail-enabled universal groups. Since the membership of mail-enabled universal groups must be managed manually by administrators, you will reduce administrative overhead. Scenario 5-1: Configuring an Exchange Resource Forest New Exchange resource forest will need to be created that trusts the existing two forests using one-way cross-forest or external trust relationships. Next, an OU structure can be created in the Exchange resource forest and linked mailbox users that refer to the appropriate existing users in each forest. The mailboxes for each linked mailbox user should be load balanced across the Mailbox role servers within the Exchange resource forest. In addition, the mail user, mail contact, and mail-enabled group structure should be migrated to the Exchange resource forest

to provide the same functionality that each forest was used to in the past. Next, the mailboxes from the original forest should be moved to the Exchange resource forest using the MoveMailbox cmdlet within the Exchange Management Shell and the email client programs on the client computers reconfigured to refer to the CAS and Hub role serves within the Exchange resource forest. Scenario 5-2: Managing Recipient Objects It will likely involve using removing mailboxes for contract members and configuring mail users for them instead as well as implementing restrictive quotas on the mailbox databases. For individual mailbox users that require a larger quota, this quota can be configured individually for the user within the properties of the mailbox user. In addition, restricting the maximum message sizes in mailbox user properties will prevent users from receiving large emails and hence reduce disk usage. Although this will cut down on the disk space usage in the short term, additional disk space may still be required in the future should the organization grow and implement additional mailbox users .
