The chapter is about oriantation and employee training. Oriantation is the introduction of new employees to the organization, work unit and job employees recieves oriantation from co-worker which is usually unplianed and unofficial, due to which official otiantation is important. There are two types of oriantation. 1) Organizational oriantation, which prsents topics of relevence and intrest to all employees. 2) Departmental and job oriantstion, that describs topics that are unique to the new employees specific department and job. Organizational oriantation is based on the need of both organization and employees, while, departmental is based on the specfic need of department and skills of the employees. Organizations always provide oriantation let that include, Company organization chart Map of company facilaties Copy of policy and procedures List of holidays and frings benefits Copies of performance appraisal forms Copy of other required forms

Traing of employes is also needed after oriantation. Training is the learning process that involes acquisition of skills, conceps, rules or attitude to enhance employee performance. Training of the new employees help them deal for the betterment of the organization. The training activities held to make the new employees awaire of the organization activities which need to be achived and help the employees to achive their objectives. Trainig is conduct on five methods that are, interviwes, serveys questioniers observation, focus groups and documents examination. There are two types of training.

1) On the job training: This type of trainings normally given by the senior employees, the employees is taught how to do the job. One type of on-the-job training is job rotation also called cross training which means, training that requires an individualto learn several different jobs in a work unit or department and perform each job for a specified time period. It is essential for to make the organizationmore fleaibilite possible in the department. The following steps are use for on the job training. Preparation for the traince for learning the job. Breakdown of coork into component and identufication of key points. Presentation of the operation and knowledge. Performance tryout. Follow up.

2) Apprfenticeship training: Its provides new workers with instruction, both on and off the jobs, in the practicle and theoreticle aspects of the work required in a highly skilled operation. Motivation to achieve persnol geols, having the knowledge of the feedback, the reinforcement of behaviours thet appairs to lead to be repeated, flow of the training programe practice and repeatation of the assigned job, are the main principles of learning and training.
