Words!!
Who may worship in your sanctuary, Lord? Who may your presence on your holy hill? Those who lead blameless lives and do what is right, speaking the truth from sincere hearts. Those who refuse to gossip or harm their neighbors or speak evil of their friends. Psalm 15:1-3 New Living Translation In April I was reminded of a statement that I was told often when growing up by my mother. She would say Its not necessarily what you say, but how you say it that matters. I was reminded by this when I overheard a conversation. If people came and heard you talking to another person would they be turned-on or turned-off from the way we speak to each other? Words are very powerful, but so can our tone that we use (a lesson that I had to be reminded of a whole lot). So, when we have conversations with others, let them be out of love, speaking the truth from sincere hearts, and let our tone reflect that spirit. ~Pastor Cory

Vacation Bible School is fast approaching. It will be June 24th through June 27th, from 9:00am to 2:00pm. Ingham Okoboji Lutheran Bible Camp will be leading it again this year. The theme is Remedy. It will held here at UCP. The cost will be $10 for K-5th grade with a family maximum cost of $25. We are in need of volunteers. Volunteers to be with the children, and some for the kitchen. Also, we need some host homes for those who are coming from Ingham Okoboji Lutheran Bible Camp. Our day to cook is Monday, June 24th. Sign-up sheets are in the fellowship hall for all these areas!

The WWW Children decided that they wanted to buy a Llama and chicks for the Heifer Project! Thank you for generously giving your quarters to make this goal possible! A total of $170 was raised. If you are aware of someone in need of a pastoral call, please inform Pastor Cory at the office, 957-4960 or her cell 404-788-4997. She would rather hear from multiple sources than from no one at all. In these times of privacy rights, hospitals and nursing homes may not divulge information relating to a resident or patient, so it is very important that members and/or their families let the Pastor know of all needs for pastoral care.
