Why did you join FFA? I
joined FFA to learn more
about agriculture and the
way it impacts our lives. It
has been a big part of our
family.
What do you like most
about FFA? I enjoy being
with my friends and other
students as I learn. I also
like to compete in CDEs,
especially at state conven-
tion.
How has FFA helped you
grow as a person? FFA has
helped me become more
confdent with my abilities.
I have learned to help oth-
ers and become a better
speaker as well.
What advice would you
give to younger students?
FFA is a very fun and has
lots of good learning expe-
riences. It is not all about
farming; there are many dif-
ferent things a kid can learn
about. It will help you later
on in life, no matter what
your job is.

in FFA: Parliamentary Pro-
cedure team and Farm-2-
School
Why did you join FFA? I
joined FFA because my
cousins and brothers did
it before me and it seemed
like a fun activity to do in
high school.
What do you like most
about FFA? The thing I like
most about FFA is every-
thing! I love the pizza after
meetings, the competitions
and traveling with Mrs.
Bidne, and learning more
about agriculture.
How has FFA helped you
grow as a person? FFA
has helped me grow as a
person by providing an
environment that allows
my leadership abilities to
grow. Being in FFA has also
made me more confdent in
my public speaking skills,
whether it be speaking to
elementary students about
locally grown products or
talking to the whole chap-
ter/community about giv-
ing to the Angel Tree at the
crop show.
What advice would you
give to younger students?
My advice to younger stu-
dents is dont be afraid to
try something new! There
are many opportunities in
FFA, so dont be scared to

Why did you join FFA?
It is a family tradition to be
involved in FFA. I wanted
to follow that tradition and
I knew it would be a great
program to be involved in
especially at our local chap-
ter in Jackson.
What do you like most
about FFA? I like all the
opportunities FFA has to
offer. I also like all the
leadership skills that FFA
teaches, and all the CDE
teams that are offered.
How has FFA helped you
grow as a person? FFA
has taught me many valu-
able life skills. These skills
include leadership, poise,
responsibility, and how to
present myself profession-
ally. I have also learned
public speaking skills and
how to become a role mod-
el. FFA teaches many skills
that may not be noticed, but
with FFA there is always
something to be taught.
What advice would you
give to younger students?
Never cut yourself short.
Always reach for higher
goals. Always try your best,
no matter what, and dont
be afraid to try something

to understand and explore
different career opportu-

people in FFA. You really
grow as a family and have
fun together with every
event FFA leads you to.
How has FFA helped you
grow as a person? FFA has
opened my eyes about what
different jobs there are and
how it can help you achieve
your goals to get you where
you want to go. It shows

open new doors you never

Why did you join FFA?
I was hesitant to join FFA,
but my parents convinced
me because they knew that
I would enjoy it and that be-
ing in FFA is a good experi-
ence to have.
What do you like most
about FFA? What I like
about FFA is that it opens
your eyes to the whole
world, through agriculture.
Not only that, but I have
learned a lot of useful skills
and had many opportunities
that I would have never ex-
perienced if I never joined
FFA.
How has FFA helped you
grow as a person? FFA
helped me unlock my lead-
ership and communication
abilities. I have also grown
through the many interest-
ing things I have learned
from the teams I have been
on.
What advice would you
give to younger students? I
would encourage others to
get involved in something
that interests you because
FFA can open a ton of doors
for you in the future. FFA
is one of the best things to
get involved in because it
has ample opportunities to
learn and grow.
What are your plans for

What do you like most
about FFA? I love all of the
different opportunities I get
to have in the FFA organi-

and experience things I
would have never been able
to in the classroom.
How has FFA helped you
grow as a person? FFA has
allowed me to become more
outgoing, utilize my leader-
ship skills as an offcer, and
let me explore many differ-
ent opportunities that I may
not have had anywhere else.
What advice would you
give to younger students? I
would tell them to give FFA
a try. It has a lot of oppor-

will also have a lot of fun
along the way.

In the United States, a land of plenty, one in six Americans will experience food insecurity some time during the coming year. Today, millions of Americans
struggle with hunger. These are often hard-working adults, children and seniors who simply cannot make ends meet and are forced to go without food for several
meals, or even days. Around the world, more than 16,000 children die from hunger-related causes every day. That is one child every fve seconds. An estimated 1
billion people did not have enough to eat during 2011.
National FFAs Feeding the WorldStarting at Home initiative is a compelling educational movement
to help students understand the issues and effects of hunger. Students then take action to support the human
right to safe, affordable, abundant and nutritious food as a means of reducing hunger at home and abroad,
starting with a look at the U.S. The frst step is to educate teachers and students about domestic and global
food insecurity. The second is to organize hunger relief efforts that give FFA members opportunities to apply
what they have learned to fght hunger and promote food security for all.

CONGRATULATIONS, FFA!
know what else I could
pursue.
What do you like most
about FFA? The way the
organization is set up. Its
fun and everyone strongly
believes in the organization,
which is centered on agri-
culture. I also like all the
competitions whether
its region, state or even
national. It really is fun to
meet new people who have
the same beliefs as I do.
How has FFA helped you
grow as a person? My fear
of speaking in front of an
audience overcoming
that really is setting me up
for a great future.
What advice would you
give to younger students?
Just join it nothing to
lose by doing so. Plus, once
you join, your own destiny
will truly show its colors.
What are your plans for
the future? College to pur-
sue business and interna-
tional business.
experience and you learn a
lot of new things.
What are your plans for
the future? To take farm
management classes at
Minnesota West, and build
a 2,400-head swine barn.
What are your plans for
the future? To go to col-
lege and take on business
of some sort.
cause I get to see how much
I know compared to other
members from different
chapters around the state.
How has FFA helped you
grow as a person? I have
learned not to take anything
for granted. I am working
harder toward my goals.
The leadership skills I have
gained are helping me be-
come a better role model at
my school. I make sure no
one is left out of activities.
What advice would you
give to younger students?
FFA will change your life.
You will meet new people
and gain skills you dont
have. Being part of the
FFA is a great experience
to have. Be yourself.
What are your plans for
the future? I plan on attend-
ing the University of Min-
nesota to study to become
an ag teacher.
