Title of the Dissertation (proposed): A Study on Working Capital Management of J & K Bank

INTRODUCTION: Working capital management refers to the administration of all aspects of current assets, namely cash, marketable securities, debtors and stock (inventories) and current liabilities. J&K Bank adopts certain method for financing their customers working capital requirements. There are certain recommendations from the committees for the banks to finance the working capital needs of their clients.

STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM : The research aims to study the working capital management at J & K Bank , Srinagar.

RESEARCH OBJECTIVES: To learn the effective management of working capital. To study how to keep the capital that is tied up in the working capital cycle at a minimum and maximizing profit. To study the different components of working capital and its impact on the performance of the firm. To study how J&K Bank finances working capital requirements of the firms.

RESEARCH METHODOLOGY: Sample size : 100 Sampling Method: Random sampling Data source: Primary as well as Secondary Data o Primary data: The project report mainly comprises of primary data collected through Questionnaires. Questionnaires were designed specially to suit the nature of sample and to suit the purpose of the study. o Secondary data: In addition to the primary sources, data was also collected from the following sources; internet, J&K banks case studies

SCOPE OF THE STUDY: the study is confined to district Srinagar only.
