Dear Resident, Your Community Hall, The Princess Gwenllian Centre, is run entirely by a volunteer committee and is selffunding with proceeds coming from hire charges, charity events and some donations. Due to limited finances when the Hall opened eleven 11 years ago as Phase 1, it was built to a restricted size and layout. The intended Phase 2 was delayed until Phase 1 sustainability could be proven. Since that time the use of the Hall has grown considerably and includes for example: Aerobics, Dance classes, Badminton, Football, Netball, Kick boxing, Karate, Indoor bowls, Camera club, Beer festival, Talent contests, Childrens discos, Local organisation meetings, Conferences, Blood bank donations, Flu injection service, wedding/anniversary/birthday parties, Concerts and Charity events. The Hall has proved to be sustainable and usage has now increased to the point where bookings are being turned down. The need for Phase 2 expansion of the Hall has become even more evident, and as a consequence the Hall Committee is seeking Grant funding to build Phase 2. This letter is being sent out to all households in Kidwelly and Mynyddygarreg to ask you for your support, and we would appreciate your response on the tear-off slip below.
