. The European Hotel Design Awards were handed over on November 6 in London. Lnchd 19 design hotel, as the first Hungarian winner ever was awarded the prize BEST ARCITECTURE Newbuild. The best of European hotel architecture and design was celebrated by The European Hotel Design Awards for the 11th times this year. The Awards recognize the work of architects, designers, and developers across 18 different categories. They are judged by leading hotel designers, architects, owners, operators and developers, as well as respected journalists, editors and commentators on hotel design. Previous winners include well-known hotels like Casa del Mar in Corse, Haymarket in London and Carton House in Maynooth, Ireland. Edit Rozsos, representative of Lnchd 19 design hotel was handed over the prize at a dinner attended by some 850 people drawn from across the Continent. She explained: Since we invited solely Hungarian architects and designers to be the creators of the hotel, this award is an honour to the talent and creativity of Hungarian artists as well as to Budapest, since Lnchd 19 design hotel has been the first Hungarian hotel ever awarded by this prize. The hotels architectural plans were made up by Radius B+S Ltd. and KB Design, the interactive faade was designed by Szvetsg 39 and Nextlab. Previous awards of Lnchd 19: The hotel received two Hungarian Design Awards (for the interactive faade and the visuals of the hotel) and a Budapest Architectural Prize in 2007 and Pro Architecture Prize in 2008. Lnchd 19 design hotel is featured in Cond Nast Travellers Hot List 2008, among the best 65 new hotels of the world and also on Wallpaper and Fortune Magazines List of the Best 50 Business Hotels 2008. * * *

Lnchd 19 offers 45 rooms and 3 suites, all of them with a view at the UNESCO World Heritage sites Pest riverbank or the Buda Royal Castle. The hotel is located directly on the Danube riverbank, a hundred meters from the Budapest-symbol Lnchd (Chain Bridge). Budapest City centre is within a further hundred meters, the Castle is a ten-minute walk to the top of the Castle hill which emerges literally from the backyard of Lnchd 19. Each room provides free internet access, a flat, internet-able TV set featuring international channels, airconditioning, minibar, safe deposit and phone as basic room fittings. The specially designed suites offer large panorama terraces. Lnchd 19 accommodates three conference rooms with a combined capacity of 100 participants and L19 restaurant&bar.
