The NB3 Foundation has been awarded a Coach Across America Soccer Coach position for the 2013-2014 service year. Administered through the Up2Us organization, Coach Across America (CAA) is an AmeriCorps program that provides its member organizations with the support needed to train and host highly effective coaches in sports and youth development. CAAs mission is to: Lead the United States in training and supporting expert SBYD coaches in the nations most under-resourced communities to promote health and nutrition, educational success, civic engagement, and positive personal and social development among youth.

Working for the Foundation


As an employee of the NB3 Foundation, this position will work directly with Native American youth and communities within the greater Albuquerque area as well as other Native populations in New Mexico. Operating within the NB3 Soccer League (NB3SL) the NB3 Foundation implements youth soccer programming in the fall and spring, as well as summer leagues and camps. This position will provide coaching leadership on the field for youth ages 4- 16 as well as assist with adult coaching education and training. The ideal candidate for this position will possess the following qualities: An extensive playing background and passion for the sport of soccer Experience and ability coaching youth soccer players while providing a fun atmosphere within an enriching learning environment

A desire to work and immerse oneself within a unique culture and build relationships within the community An understanding of the sport-based youth development field and ability to utilize sport for positive impact Strong organizational skills including competence with computers, social media, data collection and general office duties Experience working with Native American communities

Positions Details
The NB3 Foundation CAA position is a half-time position including 900 service hours over the course of the year, on average 25 hours per week. This person must be over the age of 18, have their own transportation, and must pass a background check. This person must also be available during afternoon and evening hours during the week as well as weekends. This position receives a monthly stipend/living allowance as well as an education award at the completion of the service year in the amount of $2,775. This position has a start date of August 1, 2013, and the coach must commit to the full year of service through July 31, 2014.
