Dear President Faust and Fellows of Harvard College: We, as alumni of Harvard University, call upon our alma

mater to abstain from any new investments in fossil fuel companies and to divest its endowment from the top 200 publicly traded fossil fuel companies, as listed by carbon reserves. Harvard has an obligation to divest for three main reasons: (1) to affirm Harvards support of its own scholars; (2) to acknowledge climate change as a moral issue; and (3) to uphold the value of responsibility for the consequences of personal actions that it encourages in students and the larger community. We believe such actions will not only be a sound decision for Harvards financial portfolio but also for the well-being of its current and future graduating classes. Harvard students deserve a future that is not defined by climate chaos. *By signing this petition you agree to have your name and class year published on the Divest Harvard website under the full text of the Divest Harvard Alumni Resolution, of which this petition is a summary.
