MYSTERY JUICE

Opening night Thu 4 July, 6-8pm everyone is welcome to attend. 5 July - 29 August. During her time on the Isle of Mull Deirdre has been gathering real life stories from a range of blow in (incomer) island residents. She has unearthed stories of past, present and place of origin from a range of people who have chosen to make the Isle of Mull their home.

One of the finest Scottish acts to emerge in recent times, Rura won the prestigious Danny Kyle Award at Glasgows Celtic Connections. Combining highland pipes, whistles, flute, fiddle, bodhran, guitar and vocals, their powerful, energetic performances showcase Scotlands emerging talent in new contemporary folk songs and instrumentals. The concept for this tour all started with the finding of The Lockerbie Tapes..... 15 years ago Mystery Juice toured the Highlands and Islands gigging. This tour culminated in a recording session with Russ Wilkins. Recorded live onto reel to reel, the masters lay forgotten until recently. To celebrate the release of this music for the first time, Mystery Juice return to some of the places they visited on that tour in 1998 and that inspired this recording. CEILIDH TRAIL

Outstanding young musicians from Scotland and Ireland. This is the 4th year of the Argyll Ceilidh Trail run by Fis Latharna in Oban. It is a fantastic project which gives 8 very talented teenage traditional musicians from all over Argyll the opportunity to create a band and tour the area for 2 weeks in the summer. CLOUD MAN

Cloudia has always had her head in the clouds, and all of her life she has dreamt of seeing a Cloud Man. Follow the clues to the top of Cloud Mountain and if you are lucky, you may see something very special Age 4-7 & adults. Mon 8 July, Druimfin, 2pm Tickets 6/4

SLEEPLESS TIL SEATTLE

Two Scottish cyclists took a 4-month, 4000-mile journey across the US, and encountered bears, storms, prairies, mechanical failures and a colourful set of characters. A light-hearted insight into the real America, with film clips and music. Thu 25 July, Druimfin, 8pm Tickets 9/6

Stringband music with simple intentions: to keep the role of traditional musician as entertainer and commentator alive and kicking. Their original music combines the virtuosic soloing and tightness of bluegrass, the band-driven rhythm of old time, the jerky bounce of ragtime, and the swagger of good old rock and roll. Listen To Keep Roddys third solo album was released in March to high acclaim and recorded here at An Tobar. His live shows are always warm and accomplished as you would expect from such talent. In Iona, Roddy will be followed by a Ceilidh with The Hannah Fisher Band.

Storytelling theatre from Toto Tales, in association with Mull Theatre. The story of the Starbird, who lights up the stars, is told in a dazzling fusion of Scottish and African music, story, dance, costume and puppetry. Age 3+ & adults.
