Mall Stanford, CA 94305-33096 Dear Associate Dean Callan, I am writing you to express my strong interest in the position of Assistant Dean and Director, Academic Services (#10077888). I am confident that my ten years of professional experience as a Student Services Administrator at Stanford, including the GSE, as well as my educational background, and deep desire to be part of a high-performing team environment are a strong fit. I have worked as the Associate Director of Academic Progress & Policy in the Office of the Vice Provost for Undergraduate Education (VPUE) and within Undergraduate Advising & Research (UAR) in a role that has allowed me to develop skills and expertise in areas that appear to be analogous to those required of a successful candidate for the position of the Assistant Dean, Director of Academic Services. I act as primary UAR liaison with the Office of the University Registrar, all academic departments, and other University offices. Central to the success of this role was the ability to develop a broad and deep knowledge of academic rules and policies governing course enrollment, degree requirements, departmental curricula, and academic standing, including student issues and needs, resource offices, and exceptions to standard practices. This effort has required extensive collaboration with many campus partners and stakeholders, which I thoroughly enjoy and in which I believe I excel. Having spent four productive and rewarding years as a member of GSEs Academic Services team, I am familiar with its mission, values, structure, and programs. I also understand that people are an organizations greatest asset. The Academic Services team in the GSE is known for its dedicated and talented staff that are as passionate as I am about delivering high-level service to students and faculty. It is important to me that I work in such a culture of excellence. I am excited by the opportunity to return to Academic Services and continue to build upon the successes that have been established. Thus, the importance of professional development, mentorship, and careful attention to creating and sustaining a supportive, dynamic, and enjoyable work environment are of the upmost importance. I welcome the opportunity to speak with you further about my qualifications and the position. Thank you for your time and consideration. Sincerely,

Lourdes V. Andrade
