Phonics Yeah, we have a long week of phonics ahead of us. I noticed that some of the students is beginning to forget the phonic sounds again. I am quickly going to review the sounds. We are going to continue listening to sounds in the beginning of words. It does not matter if the student says he hears a 'k' sound in the beginning of the word and the word really starts with a 'c', because we are listening for the sounds, not the spelling.

Review Students review the verb to be i.e. I am, you are, he/she/it is, we are, they are. Practice writing their names down and also focus on making corrections to writing errors.

Notes / parent follow up: Please review the phonics alphabet. You can watch the You Tube video online. I use "phonics 2" by KidsTV123. This is really important that your child is fully aware of all the sounds. By scrambling the sounds, your child will be more comfortable with recognising it. Encourage your child to speak English as much as possible. Make sure they do so clearly and loudly. Practice the 3 verbs with your child i.e. to be, to go and to like. Watch the transportation video with your child and encourage them to say the vocab out loud.
