Chapter 1 Overview
The topics in this section provide an overview of the Enhanced Wave Planning functionality added with the 3.10 release of SSA Warehouse Management 4000 application. The chapter consists of the following topics:

Objectives
The following functionality has been added to the system:
Display summary of wave information. The Total Eaches, Total Pallets, Total Cube, Total Net Weight, and Total Gross Weight display for each order, as well as a total summary of all orders on the wave. Entry of Each, Case, and Pallets picked per hour, as well as the number of workers. Based on this information the system calculates and displays the number of one hour worth of work on the wave. Manpower/Time Planning
To avoid having to enter the same rate information on the Manpower/Time Planning screen for every Wave, enter default values on the Client Options screen.
Eaches - number of Eaches a worker is able to process in one hour Cases - number of Cases a worker is able to process in one hour Pallets - number of pallets a worker is able to process in one hour

Wave Summary
The enhancement to the existing Wave functionality now displays summary information about the Wave and allows the user to calculate the number of hours worth of work or number of workers needed. To calculate hours worth of work, the user enters:
Eaches, cases, and pallets per worker Number of workers available for the wave
Eaches, cases, and pallets per hour Number of hours available for the wave
Note: Users must create and allocate a wave before they can view data on the Manpower and Time Planning screen.

When the user selects Manpower/Time Planning the Manpower/Time Planning screen displays. This screen displays the Wave Summary as well as the individual summaries of the orders on the wave.

The Rate Information is the average number of eaches, cases, and pallets picked in one hour in the warehouse. It is required in the calculations for Workers and Hours and defaults to the Tools Client Options screen. Users can edit these numbers at any time on the Wave screen.
Note: The calculations for Number of Workers to complete the picks on a Wave is Planning Units / (Planning Hours*Rate of Picking).
