In a message on Twitter, Iman al-Qahtani said she had been stopped from flying to Istanbul. Only then, she said, was she told of her travel ban. Ms Qahtani has been outspoken in her support for fellow human rights campaigners in the Arabian kingdom. Saudi officials were said to have been unhappy with her reporting. Live-tweeting trials There were reports Ms Qahtani had been coming under pressure from the security services over her reporting of the trials of two leading Saudi human rights activists, Mohammad al-Qahtani and Abdullah al-Hamid. EGYPT PRESIDENT ADLY MANSOUR IN FIRST PUBLIC ADDRESS

Egypts interim President Adly Mansour has vowed to protect the country against those who seek chaos and violence, in his first public address. Two weeks after the army ousted President Mohammed Morsi, Mr Mansour said his government was committed to restoring security and stability. Meanwhile, Mr Morsis Muslim Brotherhood has called for mass rallies on Friday to demand his reinstatement. The group refused to join the new interim cabinet unveiled this week. We are going through a critical stage and some want us to move towards chaos and we want to move towards stability. Some want a bloody path, the interim leader said, speaking in a pre-recorded message aired on state TV. We will fight a battle for security until the end. We will preserve the revolution. Mr Morsi was ousted on 3 July in what his supporters have said was a military coup. The army, however, says it was fulfilling the demands of the people after mass anti-Morsi protests.

EGYPT STARTS ON NEW CONSTITUTION

A 10-strong panel of legal experts, appointed by interim President Adly Mansour, is to start work on Sunday on amending Egypts constitution. They have 30 days to draft changes paving the way for new parliamentary and presidential elections. The previous constitution framed by the government of ousted Islamist President Mohammed Morsi has been suspended. His Muslim Brotherhood movement has denounced the rewriting of the constitution. Thousands of pro-Morsi supporters are continuing to protest against his removal in the Nasr City area of Cairo. Demonstrators, many of them from Mr Morsis Muslim Brotherhood, staged large rallies across Egypt on Friday, angry at his overthrow by the military on 3 July. The Brotherhood has refused to recognise the new military-backed administration. However, interim Prime Minister Hazem el-Beblawi, in his first televised interview, said on Saturday he was hoping for everyone to take part in a national dialogue. We cannot write a constitution when the country is divided. We have to return to harmony, he said. In a separate development, Jordans King Abdullah on Saturday became the first Arab leader to visit Egypt since the fall of the Islamist-led government. He met the caretaker president and gave his backing to Egyptian national choices, a presidential statement said.

POPE FRANCIS TO BEGIN BRAZIL VISIT

Pope Francis is due to fly to Brazil for his first foreign trip, which will be taking place amid high security. The pontiff will be greeted by some two million young people from all over the world at the Roman Catholic World Youth Day festival in Rio de Janeiro. The first Latin American Pope will also celebrate Mass on the famous Copacabana beach and visit shanty towns. Some 22,000 security staff will be on duty during the visit of the Pope, who is not using his armoured Popemobile. Mask ban

Ahead of his week-long trip, the 76-year-old Pope from Argentina called on his followers to join him spiritually on his journey through prayer. The pontiff is due to arrive in Brazil the worlds most populous Catholic country later on Monday, and huge crowds are expected to greet him at Rio airport. The Vatican says it has full confidence in the ability of Brazilian security forces to protect the pontiff during his visit. However, Pope Francis direct style of communication, his desire for close proximity with his flock and his frequent rejection of protocol are creating some worry among the organisers of the visit, the BBCs David Willey in Rome reports.

TRAYVON MARTIN PROTESTS ACROSS US AT ZIMMERMAN VERDICT

Protests have taken place in more than 100 US cities, a week after George Zimmerman was cleared of murdering unarmed black teenager Trayvon Martin. Demonstrators demanded federal charges to be brought against Mr Zimmerman, 29, over the February 2012 incident. A Florida jury agreed that the neighbourhood watch volunteer killed the 17-year-old in self-defence. In comments on Friday, President Barack Obama admitted many black men in the US experienced racial profiling. The protests against the courts decision were led by the National Action Network, headed by civil rights activist the Reverend Al Sharpton. We are not coming out with violence, we are coming to denounce violence. The violence that was perpetrated on an unarmed, innocent man named Trayvon Martin, Mr Sharpton told at a rally in New York. Thousands gathered for Justice for Trayvon protests in at least 100 other cities across America, including Atlanta, Chicago, Los Angeles and Miami. Mr Sharpton told supporters on Saturday morning that he wanted to see the scrapping of stand your ground self defence laws, such as that in force in Florida. We are trying to change laws so that this never, ever happens again, he said. The teenagers mother, Sybrina Fulton, told the crowd: Today it was my son. Tomorrow it might be yours. Rapper Jay Z and his wife, the singer Beyonce, appeared on stage at the New York rally. In Miami, Trayvon Martins father, Tracy Martin, was among those who gathered to the words of the civil rights song We Shall Overcome.

WHAT IS THE MAGNA CARTA

It is crumbling, water-stained and written in Medieval Latin, but the Magna Carta has managed to remain relevant to the cause of human rights even today, 800 years after it was scrawled on parchment and affirmed with the sticky wax seal of the English king. Englands Great Charter of 1215 was the first document to challenge the authority of the king, subjecting him to the rule of the law and protecting his people from feudal abuse. Although most of the charters ideas were revised or have since been repealed, the Magna Cartas fundamental tenets provided the outline for modern democracies. One of its clauses, still in the English law books, has been credited as the first definition of habeas corpus the universal right to due process. Taking a cue from the document more than five centuries later, American revolutionaries incorporated many of the Magna Cartas basic ideas into another important piece of parchment the U.S. Constitution.

SIM CARD FLAW RESULTS IN PHONE HIJACKING

A vulnerability on SIM cards used in some mobile phones could allow malware infection and surveillance, a security researcher warns. Karsten Nohl, founder of Security Research Labs in Berlin, told The New York Times that he has identified a flaw in SIM encryption technology that could allow an attacker to obtain a SIM cards digital key, the 56-digit sequence that allows modification of the card. The flaw, which may affect as many as 750 million mobile phones, could allow eavesdropping on phone conversations, fraudulent purchases, or impersonation of the handsets owner, Nohl warned. We can remotely install software on a handset that operates completely independently from your phone, warned Nohl, who said he managed the entire operation in less than two minutes using a standard PC. We can spy on you. We know your encryption keys for calls. We can read your SMSs. More than just spying, we can steal data from the SIM card, your mobile identity, and charge to your account. The vulnerability was found in the Digital Encryption Standard, a cryptographic method developed by IBM in the 1970s that is used on about 3 billion cell phones every day. While the encryption method has been beefed up in the past decade,
