Describe an occasion when you were in trouble at school.

GET OUT! GET OUT OF HERE AND DONT COME BACK! Miss Ponnudurai shouted at me. I stood there looking incredulously at the teacher. All around me there was deadly silence. My classmates were equally shock. I felt embarrassed, insulted and plain unable to say or do anything. For a few long seconds I stood there like a statue. Finally I gasped, Sorry, teacher. I dont want to hear your sorry, just GET OUT! came the instant reply. My friends Chen who sat beside me summoned up his courage and said, Teacher, he was sick for the past three days. That is why h e didnt know he had to bring the Physical Geography book. You, SHADDUP! You want to get out too? retorted the teacher. Chen shut up. She glared at me. I felt as well as embarrassed, but I knew I could not argue with a teacher. So pushing me desk noisily away from me, I walked out of the class. The bright sun greeted me out in the corridor. It was such a lovely day. The sky was blue and huge puffy clouds drifted lazily by. How could such a thing happen? How could she be so unreasonable? I really did not know I had to bring that Geography book. How could I know, as Chen said, I was absent from class when she told the class to bring the book? Anyhow there was nothing I could do. After a minute or so loitering in the corridor, I decided to go to the tuckshop. At least I could sit down there. The tuckshop was deserted as the lessons were going on. But I had no lesson to go to. So I sat on one of the seats and pondered about my situation. The tuckshop lady looked at me quizzedly. I shrugged my shoulders. It was not long afterwards that the headmaster came along. Now I was really in for trouble. How was I going to explain my being in the tuckshop during lesson time? He stopped in front of me, folded his arms and stared at me. I put my head down. I could not meet his gaze.

Now, why are you sitting here? Dont you have a class to go to? his voiced boomed. No sir I replied timidly. Miss Ponnudurai sent me out of the class. Now, why would she do a thing like that? I didnt bring my book, sir. Aha, so you didnt bring your book eh? Follow me to the office. My goodness, now I was really in trouble, I thought. What was the headmaster going to go to me? The headmaster, thank goodness, was a fair man. He asked me to tell him everything that led to my expulsion from class. I told him as clearly as I could the events that had occurred in class a few minutes ago. When I finished, the headmaster stroked his chin and thought for a while. Then he summoned the office boy to his office. Please ask Miss Ponnudurai to come to the office, he ordered. You, he said, pointing at me. Wait outside. I walked out of his office and waited outside. Miss Ponnudurai appeared and entered the headmasters office. I waited anxiously for long minutes. All sorts of terrible thoughts came up to torment me. I was so afraid that I would be punished. Suddenly the office door opened and a smiling Miss Ponnudurai appeared. She said, I am sorry for what I did to you. I really did not know that you were ill for three days. I had let anger take the better of me. Please forgive me. Lets get back to class. I was utterly dumbfounded. A few minutes ago her face was red with rage. Now she actually looked beautiful. I looked at her, smiled and said, Okay, teacher, lets go. (Adapted from 170 More ENGLISH ESSAYS )
