2013-014 RECONSTITUTING THE PENAFRACIA EXECUTIVE COUNCIL AND ITS STEERING AND SUPPORT COMMITTEES: WHEREAS, the Feast of Our Lady of Peafrancia is the only regional feast in the country and, for the past three (3) centuries, has become an epic historical event that has become part of our cultural heritage. For the entire month of September, the City of Naga welcome millions of pilgrims, tourists and guests from different parts of the country and the world who participate in the this celebration; WHEREAS, this annual celebration contributes to the local economy, regardless of religion, promotes peace and order, provide and environment conducive tourism, a venue for appreciation of Bicol arts and culture, its indigenous and culinary arts, natural wonders and archaeological treasures; WHEREAS, the City Government in partnership with the private sector stages various activities and events as a way of creating a festive atmosphere in the city and at the same time promote and showcase the Nagueos talents, creativity and ingenuity; WHEREAS, in order ensure the smooth implementation of the various core activities identified for this years celebration, there is a need to reconstitute and reorganize the Penafrancia Executive Council and its Steering and Support Committees; NOW THEREFORE, I, JOHN G. BONGAT, Mayor of the City of Naga, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby order the following: Section 1. COMPOSITION The Penafracia Executive Council and its Steering and Support Committees are hereby reconstituted with the following composition: I. PENAFRANCIA EXECUTIVE COUNCIL Chairman: Hon. John G. All Committee Chair/Point persons are hereby authorized to appoint their committee members.

Section 2. EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR The City Administrator is designated as Executive Director of the Council. He shall supervise the implementation of policies and directives issued by the Executive Council in line with the objectives set forth by the City Mayor. Section 3. All issuances inconsistent with this Executive Order are hereby modified accordingly. Let copies of this Executive Order be furnished to all concerned.
