The Rock Never Stops
Who: Steel Wolf ranks as one of Long Islands longest-lasting rock bands.From their bio: After taking their bands moniker, Steel Wolf, from Lithuanian folklore in 1982 and releasing their first album (the now out-of-print, cassette-only release Eternal Damnation) and asked to fill in the style blank in the 1986 Good Times A-Z Local Band Directory, band leader Mark Adomaitis, then age 18, used the words killer and explosive. Twelve years later in a Good Times review of Steel Wolfs Boozer Friendly album (now streaming on Youtube), J. Corbo wrote A shining example of Steel Wolfs uncanny ability to both shock and amuse is from [the song] Aural Sects at Gun Poin [its] all about comical, vulgar, insightful and cutting edge lyrics, abrasive guitars and thunderous drums. Embracing Mainstream Success album (currently on iTunes), Tony Rettman wrote that Steel Wolf is a band of longstanding Long Island rockers who have played everywhere from the birthplace of punk, CBGB, to the Lithuanian heritage camp Neringa, located in Vermont. Although the group is proud of its Lithuanian heritage, it is obvious by song titles such as Spread The Love Mayonnaise and Shoplifting Bananas that it still finds time to pile on the laughs (Guitar and vocals) straddle the fence between the riff-heavy sounds of 70s British hard rockers and the raw urgency from punk rock days of yore. This year, in celebration of three decades of rockin, Steel Wolf released Variety Pack (free download at steelwolf.bandcamp.com) which included new song contributions not only by current members Adomaitis (lead vocals, percussion),

to which members perform in concerts such as the 2012 XIV Lithuanian Folk Dance Festival held in Boston, as well as the 2013 Long Island Music Festival was brought to life, much to audiences delight.
