DataStage Fundamentals (version 8 parallel jobs)

Audience
This course is an introductory level course for those wishing to learn how to work with DataStage parallel jobs (particularly) on UNIX or Windows servers and who have little or no prior DataStage experience. The ability to work in the Windows environment is assumed, and some familiarity with database concepts such as tables, rows, columns and structured query language (SQL) would be beneficial.

Five days.

Software
This course is written for DataStage version 8.0. The material is suitable also for version 8.1, though not for versions prior to version 8.0

Objectives
Having completed this training the student will be able: to connect from a DataStage client to a DataStage server to import table definitions to the Repository to export DataStage components from and to import DataStage components into a DataStage project to set project-wide defaults using the DataStage Administrator client to execute DataStage jobs and to inspect the logs that they produce to design DataStage jobs given specifications to construct expressions in appropriate stage types using the Expression Editor to create parameter sets and to use job parameters in DataStage jobs to apply correct partitioning to data in DataStage jobs to build DataStage job sequences to employ a range of DataStage troubleshooting techniques i
