Questions regarding certification and training

The most often asked question is "Am I certified after taking this training program." Certification in nondestructive testing in the United States as a Level I or Level II requires testing by a Level III. A technician would need to take a general, specific and practical examination with a minimum average score required from all three examinations. Some companies who offer on-line training will provide a "limited certificate" but you will not be certified to perform any testing where you would be qualified to accept or reject parts or components. In order to become certified, you would need to have work experience in the specific nondestructive testing method. This can range from a few hundred hours to over one thousand hours. Hundreds of companies are using these programs as initial training in a short term training course or as refresher training. The training requirements should be researched and verified by the Instructor or Level III who is the responsible party.

Liquid Penetrant Testing I & II

Magnetic Particle Testing I & II
