92nd Monthly Seminar Topic: Ethical Decision Making in Project Management Session Synopsis
Mr. Raza Usman will be sharing his knowledge on how to identify and make ethical decisions in the workplace. Hell be talking about what constitutes ethics and how it helps teams to deliver projects. The presentation will focus on decision making and handling of grey areas when dealing with suppliers and clients. The presentation will touch on the greater emphasis on ethics in the workplace by both governments, institutions and companies. The presentation will also focus on how we can identify practices ingrained by tradition which may lead to unethical behavior.
Profile of Facilitator:
Upon graduation from college, Raza joined Dr. AQ Khan Research Laboratories and worked on the control systems for the next generation Green Arrow ATGM, and the Ghauri ballistic missile. He was then made Engineer Incharge of the optical factory that indigenously developed the optical tracking systems for TOW weapon systems. While at the Optical factory he also introduced High Vacuum coating for the first time in Pakistan. He also lead the team that worked on a redesign on the optical guidance system which has been in production for over 13 years. Raza has worked in the IT industry for 12 years and was an integral part of major leadership initiatives in the WPP group of 72 companies in the IT domain. His expertise is in IT infrastructure and virtualization and he was part of the design team for global infrastructure systems for GroupM. He has been a regular speaker at infrastructure conferences for GroupM and the WPP group of companies. He is currently heading the IT department at the Karachi American School, teaching calculus and statistics, consulting on IT projects and working on e-learning initiatives for providing education access to all. He has been selected as a presenter on ethics in the PMI ethics CoP representing Asia Pacific. Mr. Raza Usman holds a Bachelors in Electrical Engineering from Arizona State University, USA (1993) and is PMP certified from PMI.
