September 29, 2013 Volume 3, Issue 39

The church with heart in the heart of the city.

Just Around The Corner...

Take the NO CUSSING Challenge Changing the World One Word at a Time! The words we use affect how we feel about ourselves, how others react to us and how others feel about themselves. Our words truly shape our world. Thousands of people have taken this challenge and have seen the positive affect it has had in their lives. Your words become your thoughts. Your thoughts become your behavior. Your behavior becomes your character. Your character becomes your destiny. So here it is. . . The NO CUSSING Challenge! I won't cuss, swear, use bad language, or tell dirty jokes. Clean language is a sign of intelligence and always demands respect. I will use my language to uplift, encourage and motivate. I will Leave People Better Than I Found Them! 2013 No Cussing Club tm

Sunday School Strong: We C.A.R.E.! Weekly Update Contact: Each teacher will be receiving two copies of an updated class roll with names, addresses, and phone numbers. Teachers, please think about who can invite members and guests each week. This might be a team of people assigned to letters of the alphabet by last name or one person who is willing to invite people to study the Bible with us. Arrange a fellowship time: How about taking the Sunday School Bus to a local pumpkin patch and then to our playground for carving and sharing the light of Jesus with Biblical carvings? Or Host a veteran for lunch during November for Veterans Day? Take pictures and share! Relate the Bible to daily life: Our friend from India on Sunday, Abraham Thomas, used his story to share Christ with us. What is your story to share? Enact plans to share Christ: Six WLBC members will travel to India in December. Pray daily that God will save people. Thank you for praying that our Sunday School shows each day that we care. Tom Yarber, Sunday School Director

Broad seed sowing has been a focus among the Swahili-speaking Arabs, with more audio Scripture portions and DVDs of special movies recently being distributed. Praise the Father that the materials were well received! Please pray that these materials will be circulated among the people. As families, friends and neighbors watch the movies and listen to the Scripture, ask that the Father will move mightily and that many will come to faith.
