Care and Cleaning - HOB
Care and Cleaning - HOB
GETTING STARTED:
GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS:
Always check the positions of the control knobs to make sure the appliance is off
when you are finished cooking.
Before performing any service, turn off the gas supply by closing the gas shut-off
valve and turning off the electrical power supply.
Always clean the Hob cautiously. If using a damp sponge or cloth, wait until the
Hob has cooled sufficiently to prevent steam burns. Also, some cleaners can
produce harmful or unpleasant fumes if applied to hot surfaces.
Using a gas cooking appliance results in the generation of heat and humidity in
the location where it is installed. Please ensure that your kitchen has proper
ventilation: keep natural ventilation orifices open or install a mechanical device
(mechanical ventilation hood).
Never use the Hob surface as a cutting board.
Do not try to remove heavy spills with a sharp object such as a knife or metal
spatula, as they can harm the finish.
Check periodically the state of conversation of the flexible gas feed pipe. In case
of leakage, call immediately a qualified technician.
After installation, please make sure that the knobs are in OFF position. Put a
battery of 1.5 V in the battery box under the hob.
To light a particular burner, press down on the corresponding control knob, then
immediately rotate the knob counterclockwise from the “OFF” position to the
“HI/LITE” position. Once the burner is lit, reduce the flame height if desired by
rotating the control knob further counterclockwise, then place the utensil on the
grate.
NOTE:
The auto choke safety device is only for flameout by water, wind or any spillover. The
device can’t protect leakage due to any other reason. If the gas does not ignite within
ten seconds, turn off the valve. Allow at least two minutes for any gas to dissipate, then
repeat the lighting procedure.
CLEANING TIPS
Read and follow the Care and Cleaning instructions to ensure proper Hob operation and
appearance throughout the lifetime of the product.
More frequent cleaning is required if the Hob is used often for frying or other
high temperature operations.
Clean the Hob thoroughly prior to operating it the first time. For initial and
everyday cleaning, use a soft cloth or sponge lightly dampened with a solution of
warm water and hand dishwashing liquid to clean all components.
Before cleaning the Hob, ensure that all burners are turned off and that all
components are cool enough to safely touch.
Clean electrical parts with a dry cloth.
Always dry components completely before using the Hob.

SAFETY WARNINGS:
In the event that a burner flame goes out and gas escapes, open a window or
door. Wait at least 5 minutes before attempting to use the Hob.
Select utensils of the proper size, material and construction for the particular
type of cooking being done. Select utensils that are large enough to contain food
without boil overs or spillovers. Choose pans with easily grasped handles that
will stay cool while cooking.
Do not use the Hob for warming or heating the room.
If the Hob is near a window, do not use long curtains as a window treatment.
They can blow over the Hob and create a fire hazard.
Note: Electric ignition is available in selected models only. Most ANUPAM hobs come with
battery ignition.
