As an integral component of UNCs strategy of internationalization, the Study Abroad Office offers more than 320 programs in 71 countries and provides access to a wide portfolio of educational opportunities that reflect and support the intellectual, financial and cultural needs of our diverse student body. Participation in a study abroad program encourages the exchange of knowledge and understanding, and promotes enlightened and responsible citizenship and leadership for our state and nation. These global education opportunities are offered through bilateral exchange agreements, direct enrollment opportunities at partner universities, agreements with professional program providers and through other UNC-organized study abroad programs, which are often led by Carolina faculty. Office staff are dedicated to helping students study abroad and pair students with the most appropriate and fulfilling educational opportunities, provide financial and health information and even suggest tips for traveling green and sustainably.
