Teachers and X-C-R coaches, Re: Race Notice Landing Trail Intermediate School (LTIS) in Athabasca is hosting the Cross Country Running (XCR) Aspen View Regional Race on Wednesday, October 16, 2013. The courses are set up on the Muskeg Creek Trails in the town of Athabasca (right next to LTIS). There is a $1 / racer fee to be paid at the LTIS office either in advance or when you arrive. If it is snowing, we will postpone the event.

We are asking that all coaches send a list of all their teams registrants as soon as possible via email on a spreadsheet - preferably by October 15 sooner if possible. Make sure your registrants are put in appropriate categories: name, gender and grade (ex. John Doe, Grade 4 Boy, LTI School). This will give us time to decide on awards and to make a final tally of racers. Please do not come with your athlete list on race day send the info in electronically beforehand to joe.macisaac@aspenview.org Please see below for more details. The staging area will be just outside the school near the finish area. All racers should be at the staging area 30 minutes before their race time to ensure an adequate warm up and to get any last minute information. There will be a concession. You are responsible for providing a sticker and putting it on each racers race shirt prior to the race. Please ensure that the name is legible and that you indicate gender, category and school (ex. John Doe Grade 4 Boy, LTIS). To make it even easier for the finish line crew, write in blue for boys categories and in red

for girls categories. Stickers should be no bigger than 4 X 3 inches.

Races start at 3:30 PM sharp (grade 3s). Give yourself enough time to get to LTIS and please have your preparations made in advance. We will not push back any race times to accommodate late entries. We are having a Pre-School Romp (200 m approx.) for any pre-school children and a Community Fun Run (Parent / Teacher / Spectator / Anyone really) of 1.5 km for anyone interested in participating. There is no charge for these racers. There is a mandatory coaches meeting at 3:10 to go over courses. Please be there! Like previous years, we will be running laps on the 1.5 km trail. This means laps on the 1.2 km trail and up in the field (300m). K-3 will be racing up in the field only. Grade 3 will be doing two laps in the field; Grade 2 one lap and a half; and we shorten accordingly as they get younger. If we have enough early registrants in the high school divisions, we will separate the categories into grades and have awards for each.

Awards will be given out after each race. Every racer will get a participant ribbon. Placement ribbons will be awarded for runners placing 1-6. Medal goes to winner of each race. Any disputes with results, marshalling, racer interference or otherwise, must be directed to the Race Director.
