The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) announces admission to the PhD Programme in Disability Studies for the January 2014 Cycle:

Candidates are advised to carefully read the eligibility details before applying. General Eligibility and Selection Procedure For Category A (a) Minimum 55% marks in Master Degree (50% for Reserved Category) in Special Education/Psychology/Sociology/Social Work/Child Development/Rehabilitation Sciences such as Physiotherapy/Occupational Therapy/Clinical Psychology etc. (b) MPhil or 5 Years Teaching/Professional experience after Post Graduation in the above subject. Such candidates are exempted from Entrance Examination. For Category B (a) Minimum 55% marks in Master Degree (50% for Reserved Category) in Special Education/Psychology/Sociology/Social Work/Child Development/Rehabilitation Sciences such as Physiotherapy/Occupational Therapy/Clinical Psychology etc. (b) Candidates have to appear for Entrance Examination to be conducted by IGNOU. However, the candidates who have qualified NET/SLET/equivalent examination conducted by national bodies likes CSIR, UGC, ICAR, IIT, etc. are exempted from the Entrance Examination. ALL APPLICANTS WILL ATTACH A RESEARCH PROPOSAL PREPARED AS PER GUIDELINES IN THE APPLICATION FORM AND INSTRUCTIONS WITHOUT WHICH THE APPLICATION IS LIABLE TO BE REJECTED.

The admission schedule will be as under : Last date for receipt of filled-in Application in the Research Unit, IGNOU 16th September 2013 Entrance Examination (IGNOU Campus, Maidan Garhi, New Delhi) 05th October 2013

Interviews/Presentations to be informed by the Discipline Candidates may download the Application Form from the IGNOU Website www.ignou.ac.in (the link is available as Research Unit or Research Degree Programmes or Announcement on the Home Page) and will submit their Applications duly filled-in along with a demand draft of Rs. 1000/- in favour of IGNOU payable at New Delhi as per instructions given in the Application Form. Please enclose relevant documents wherever required.
