I am currently Chairman of the Avon Lake Board of Municipal Utilities

and I have served on the Board for sixteen years (16 years). I have been

an active member of the team that has kept our water and sewer rates
___________________________________________________________________________________
the second lowest in the state (out of 602 utilities reporting) and in lower

sewer rates than 95% of the sewer districts in Ohio. At the same time

we exceed all Federal & State EPA requirements and have one of the
___________________________________________________________________________________
most modern facilities in the nation. As former chairman of the strategy

committee for the Utility, we sold our water and sewer services outside
___________________________________________________________________________________
the city with 10% higher rates and reinvested the money in the utility.

If I am re-elected, I would strive to accomplish three (3) major goals:

1. Fight to keep our water and sewer rates some of the lowest in the state of Ohio, while

protecting the environment, continuing to keep head counts low, carefully investment in
____________________________________________________________________________________
technology, productivity, more water and sewer (waste water services) outside the city, and
____________________________________________________________________________________
maintain our independence.

2. Bring in "big deals" like the City of Westlake as a major water customer who bring in $75
___________________________________________________________________________________
million dollars in revenue over the next 25 years and more. The revenue would be used to keep

water and sewer rates low, expand, and replace our aging infrastructure for many years.

3. Returning our "profits" back in the form of low rates, high quality water, waste water, and

customer services, and maintaining our independence from the city as a separate political entity.

My past accomplishments as a leader and team contributor and builder include:

1. Planning and building water pipelines that serve thousands of families in Avon, N.

Ridgeville, Grafton, Rural Lorain County, Medina City, and County. This is a win-win for us
____________________________________________________________________________________
and our customers because their families can enjoy almost limitless high quality water at
____________________________________________________________________________________
low rates where they had limited and in some cases poor quality water. Plus this sharing of
____________________________________________________________________________________
costs and 10% higher rates keeps our rates some of the lowest in the state plus allows to
____________________________________________________________________________________
keep our facilities some of the most modern and finest in the state run by the best
____________________________________________________________________________________
professionals available.

2. Constantly seeking more customers for our water and sewer services that will bring
____________________________________________________________________________________
millions of dollars in revenue into Avon Lake like the City of Westlake for water and Avon,
____________________________________________________________________________________
LORCO, and others for sewers. These new customers and prospective customers will
bring in millions of new dollars into Avon Lake to keep everyone's rates low, equipment in
____________________________________________________________________________________
top condition, attract, and retain top professionals.

3. My future goals include keeping water and sewer rates low by controlling expenses,

attracting new customers, retaining existing customers with outstanding customer service,
____________________________________________________________________________________
products, and services. We can accomplish these objectives by attracting, motivating, and

retaining outstanding employees.
