Malin Kundang

Once upon a time, on the north coast of Sumatra lived a boy was called as Malin Kundang . He was a boy from a very poor family who lived with his mother. However, as they were only fishermans helper, they still lived in poverty. Malin was a smart boy but a bit naughty. He always chased a chicken and hit it with a broom, until one day he slip of f and hurt himself. The wound left a scar on his hand. When Malin grew up he decided to go to city, so one day he would become rich by the time he went back to the village. Malins mother disagreed with his decision because he was the only one she had but malin hade already made up his mind, his mother had no other choice but to let her only child go. Mother, what if I sail overseas? if I stay here, Ill always be a poor man. I want to be a successful person, said Malin kundang to his mother. His mother wiped her tears, If you really want to go, I cant stop you. I could only pray to God for you to gain success in life. But, promise me, youll come home. In the next morning, Malin Kundang was ready to go. Ok mom I will go now Please pray for me mom See you mom ByeBye Ok Malin Please take care of yourself. I will always pray for you my son Good bye Malin Kundang was travelling by sea, so he came along with one rich merchant. He was hoping to become one of his crew and learn from that merchant. Malin went to anyplace whenever the winds took him. Soon he will become a great successful man. Many years has passed since then. Malin has become a rich merchant because of his hard work and one day he met a beautiful girl. She was the daughter of his master. They fell in love each other and got married. After several years waiting without any news, Malin Kundangs mother was suddenly surprised by the arrival of a big ship in the pier. Waw What a big & luxury ship? Whose ship is that? When the ship finally pulled over, Malin Kundangs mother saw a man who looked wealthy stepping down a ladder along with a beautiful woman. Her blurry eyes still easily recognized him. The man was Malin Kundang, her son. What makes her so sure is because of the scar on his hand Do you think Malin Kundang will recognize her mother?

Malin Kundangs mother quickly went to see her beloved son. Malin, youre back, son! said Malin Kundang's mother But, Malin Kundang didnt show any respond. He was ashamed to recognize his own mother in front of his beautiful wife. Youre not my Mother. I dont know you. My mother would never wear such ragged and ugly clothes, said Malin Kundang. Malin Dont you recognize me? Im your mother! she said sadly. Malin Kundangs face was as cold as ice and he said. Guard, take this old woman out of here,and give her some money so she wont disturb me again! Malin my son. Why do you treat your own mother like this? "Go! And never once in a while you're annoying me and my wife," he shouted as he drove her mother . Supercharge you Malin! I am your mother .. but why do not you recognize me?! You are really an ungrateful child ..Oh my God! If he is really my son,Curse him into a stone ...!" she said, cryingly Suddenly, malin kundangs whole body turned into stone. He was punished for not admitting his own mother.
