Our Guest Speaker on 23 7 2008
Our young guest speaker Jess Taylor who gave us a wonderful inside look on what it’s
like to travel in Japan and sharing Japanese lifestyles with different host families.
It is just about unbelievable how Jess managed to master such a difficult language is
such a short time.
It looks like he had more problems adapting to the food which was offered to him then
anything else!
It’s nice to see that a young person like him has such great ambitions for the future
and only thinks in a positive manner.
He sincerely acknowledged the Rotary Club of Belmont for their assistance in the past,
and we wish him all the very best or the future. Well done Jess.
Editors’ note: I never had a chance of tasting whale, but Judith and I love sashimi.
But what horsemeat is concerned: we both eat it during our visits to Belgium. Our
preference is to eat it raw (with some spices added to it) and on a crusty piece of
bread. Try it if you have the chance, you won’t regret it - guaranteed!

Our “stand in” acting President for the last meeting was a jetlagged PP David Bennett.
Some photo’s show him and his entourage in a just about too relaxed mode.
But it looks like he’s mixed up with some shady characters……

H E A LTH CORN E R:
Because laughing is one of the best rem edies… …
Pete, the Kiwi builder, was going through a house he had just built with the woman who
owned it. She was telling him what colour to paint each room.
They went into the first room and she said "I want this room to be painted a light blue."
The builder went to the front door and yelled "GREEN SIDE UP!" When he went back into the
house, she told him that the next room was to be bright red. The builder went to the front
door and yelled "GREEN SIDE UP!" When he went back into the house, she told him that the
next room was to be tan. The builder went to the front door and yelled "GREEN SIDE UP!"
When he came back, the lady was pretty curious, so she asked him "I keep telling you
colours, but you go out the front and yell green side up; what is that for?”
The builder said, "Oh don't worry about that, I've just got a couple of Aussies laying the turf
out front."
Our Sergeant at Arms John “THE MANIAC” did a good job again last week,
relieving members from their loose change.
I just don’t like it when he drags me into his net…….LOL!
