NEW DELHI: After BJP's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi called for Sardar Patel's "secularism", party patriarch LK Advani has quoted from a book that said Jawaharlal Nehru had called his home minister a "total communalist" when he suggested that army be sent to take over Hyderabad after Independence. Advani in his blog on Tuesday repeated extracts from MKK Nair's book, 'The Story of an Era Told without Ill Will', on "sharp exchanges" between Nehru and Patel in a Cabinet meeting before "police action" against Hyderabad. Advani's comments come at a time when the BJP and Congress have crossed swords over Patel's legacy. He had cited similar paragraphs from the book in his blog last year, quoting a news report. What Mr. Modi publicly announced, that too in the presence of PM, was never put forward by any leader since independence. Off the record somehow it was known that Sardar Patel was thousands time better administrator than Nehru and it was very unfortunate that he(Patel) was denied PM's post. The BJP in general and Modi in particular exhibiting sudden love for the legend of Patel is inexplicable and borders on the absurd. Afterall, what did the NDA do to honour Patel during those six years they were in power at the Centre ? Infact UPA scores over NDA in terms of advertisements spent to commemorate Patel. And this initiative for building a giant statue costing Rs. 2,500 crores with collecting worn out steel from every nook and corner of the Country modelled on the lines of the Kar Seva, is another attempt to garner publicity with the face of Patel. Ironically, a Trust in Gujarat named after Patel is crying for attention after having petitioned the Gujarat Government for the past ten years and all that it want is a paltry Rs. 25 lakhs. . So much for Modi's love for Patel and his preservation of his legacy. All that he is indulging is mere political stunt.

Advani or Modi need not certify our past congress leaders characters any more because we need not need communal leader's certificates. Our past congress leaders are brought all of us freedom from the British in 1947. These communal Advani or Modi has not any hereditary leaders to show that is why these communal leaders of Advani and Modi are after CONGRESS LEADER SARDAR VALLABHAI PATEL WHO WAS THE FIRST HOME MINISTER OF FREE INDIA.
